[QUOTE="Lord_Nuclear"]

[QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"] You sound like one of those fools that bought a Yugo. I drive a Toyota, I like things to last, that is a BIG part of the value.HilbillyRokstar

Haha. No, I don't have a Yugo. And I agree that a Toyota holds its value. I like things that last, too. My point was that he should get the game regardless of how many hours it takes. The fact that you claim it is only 17 hours is irrelevent. It depends on if someone blows through the game or does every little thing that determines how long it really takes. So, if he is really interested in the game, it shouldn't matter if he spends 17 hours on the game or 10. It isn't the same as comparing a $60 game to a car. Also, sometimes the quality of the game can bring more value than the length of the game. I would much rather play a 10 hour game that is amazing than play a 17 hour game that sucks just because it has length.

I didn't say the quality wouldn't be good. The fact is I'm looking forward to this game with great enthusiasm. You acted like game length is irrelevant. It's not. For my money when the developers say 18 - 25 hrs with no co-op, I just don't see $60 worth of value. I can't wait to rent it.

Here's my ORIGINAL statement.

[QUOTE="sir_dandan"][QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"] I'm wrong am I? You never just said just 17? [QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"] I'm gonna rent it. It has no multiplayer and the game is about 17 hrs long. So for me it is not a buy.HilbillyRokstar

Well done, you sure proved me wrong...

Thanks. BTW, I guess I overestimated your intellience. I thought you might be able to understand an abbreviated statement.

I think you need to look up the concept of abbreviation. You didn't abbreviate, you said 17... and were wrong.

Why can't you just accept being wrong?

Have you NEVER misspoke? I showed you my original statement. But you just won't be happy till you get your pound of flesh. I said 18-25 the guy before me mentioned 17 hrs and I mis-spoke. That's all. No biiggie unless your'e the kind of jerk that can't let it go. Thanks for admitting you wre wrong, though.

Sorry for mistaking you for someone who was intelligent enough to read sarcasm. Maybe I should have put a little disclaimer after the comment.

And of course I have misspoke in the past. But that's not what you did. First of all, you were the first person to mention 17 hours. Seriously, actually read the topic. No one mentioned "17 Hours" before you did. Secondly, if you simply misspoke you wouldn't have spent the last few hours feebly trying to defend your position in a manner befitting a child.

Let it go.

It's honestly like debating with a 7 year old.

I agree, you do kind of act like one.

You see those posts where I make points?

You see all those points where you say absolutely nothing of consequence?

Please, feel free to point me to a single childish comment I made.

Or would that feel too much like making a valid argument for you?

I won't be for a while. Don't really have the extra money to spend on games at the moment, and there are a lot of other games I would like to get before L.A. Noire. Looks like a good game though and would like to get it one day.

Just another overhyped Rockstar game that will get 10's across the board because they'll pay off everyone.

Looks like it's gonna be a good game. I don't have any plans on purchasing it right away though, I work too much to actually find the time for games like these. Maybe one these days down the road when the price drops I may go ahead n cop it.

I hope that the replay value is at least good enough to go through a second time; nevertheless, I'll be renting it.

It's a tough call for me. I pre ordered it so if I decide to get it I'll have one reserved. But Rockstar games are extremely hit or miss to me. I got TE newest GTA day one and absolutely hated it, but I waited a month or so before getting Red Dead and that was one of my top 5 games this gen. I'll probably end up canceling my pre order and just waiting until I see more.AdamRiggs4
The dev team that made this game have NEVER MADE A ROCKSTAR GAME. That alone is reason to be cautious.

I'll admit that the whole facial animations bit has me excited for it, but with my wallet screaming at the moment, I'm gonna have to hold off.

Maybe when it's 40$ or so.

Depends on how good it actually turns out. Looks to have a lot of promise and I've liked everything I've seen and heard so far, but I've been fooled many times by games that look promising but end up disappointing because of issues that would not be picked up on by watching trailers and whatnot.

Those were jokes crybaby. Banter, for amusement only. Get over it.HilbillyRokstar

Nobody's laughing. Perhaps you should give up on this 'joking' stuff, cuz you're not very good at it and only come off as crass and disrespectful.

And you WERE wrong, but are surely finding every inch of possibility to stop from saying those simple words. Weird how fragile some people's egos are.

Anyways, after seeing the reviews, I dont see the point in renting. If I like it, which it sounds like I will, I'll just be spending $65/66 on it instead of simply $60! As for the value of it, even it were only 20 hours, then thats still pretty good if its a quality 20 hours.

And its always very hard to assess the time it takes a beat a game like this. Its very easy to take much more time than others and go through all the details, while others can simply rush through. I mean, I know its possible to beat Oblivion in like 8 hours, but that didn't stop me from taking 200 hours on my playthrough, ya know? I'm sure the difference wont be that extreme, but I think people should just realize that there's very little wrong with a game thats 20-25 hours long. There's many very good games that provide much less than that.

Exactly, and I'm sure that if you collect achievements then the game is over 30 hours.

Who asked you? I said I misspoke. Really isn't that the same thing? I'm not losing any sleep at night over it. The point was, at less than 35 hrs and no co-op, the game seems like more of a rental to me.
