Will Kane & Lynch Become The Lowest User Ranked Game Ever?

Sure there are some extenuating circumstances behind the meteoric drop in score, but what does that mean? Does it serve a purpose? Is the recent scoring of the game the best message the public can send to Eidos and Gamespot? My initial thought is yes. It is not a weak grammatically incorrect petition, but a simple poll that shows how concerned people and demonstrates their willingness to express their discontent, or perhaps their agreement.

In short, score the Kane & Lynch game according to how you feel about the issues at hand. I for one, would like to see how it turns out.

If you haven't played through the story or tried online you shouldn't say anything about the game...also someone with Bulletwitch and DOA X2 on their GT shouldn't criticize other peoples tasteScarface_tm431

edit: lol at the cheapshots on Bulletwitch and DOAX2 but I see your point. I didn't play the game and didn't like it though. But even if I didn't like it I would have still done the 1.0 review because of the eidos' unethical business practices. The only ones you should be sorry for are Io Interactive since they developed it and have to suffer because of what their publisher did.

I could care less about Jeff being fired because people get fired all the time at different jobs for various reasons. The game is great IMO. I wouldn't go and rate it low because a reviewer got firedScarface_tm431

I reviewed it low because it deserved a low score. No online coo was a deal breaker for me, the loose aiming doesnt make the game feel any more realistic, just makes shooting a frustration...something a game nowadays shouldnt do. Not to mention the broken cover mechanics. I was more excited about this game than Assassins Creed for all the mulitplayer...but that all went out the window on release day when I found out there was no online coop!

If you take your time to shoot and don't just spray and pray it's not hard at all actually. Take some cover, let your reticule get small and then shoot in short bursts it's not that hard. People complain about the cover mechanic BUT I don't see what the trouble is. Have your back kinda to a wall/pillar (or whatever your taking cover with) and then go towards it. That makes more sense to me then just running straight into something and expecting to be put in cover.

Also in defense of the cover system, no one should complain about K&L's cover system without complaining about Mass Effect's, I had more trouble with ME's than K&L's. I was however dissappointed that there was no online co-op story as well, it's something you'd expect to be there with how much fun this game is co-op.

I also forgot to say, even if you think the game deserves a low score, there's no way it deserves a 1

I know that but if I play a game over a friends house then it does not. I'm sure you've played 360 that aren't on your gamercard while at a firends house.

If you gave the game a low score because you didn't like it after playing it and thought it was bad thats fine. But don't try to score a game low because of some news you hear that you happen to not agree with.The rating system is there to rate your score on the game not your personal feelings on a rumor. Since the reason for his departure is still unknown i'll keep my mouth shut on the subject. But if it turns out to be true then make a poll about your disagreement, its fast,easy and thats what its there for.

I agree with you in prinicpal. The user score for games, while a forum of sorts, is not intended to be a platform for expression beyond that of subjective views regarding quality and enjoyment. However, the damage has been done. The scoring of the game has already become a negative outlet. So, should those that agree with the reported actions of CNET and Eidos give the game a 10 rating? Should those that are waiting for more information give it a 5? I for one am not sure, but since the score clearly has nothing to do with the game it self, it has become an unofficial poll of sorts.

You know I don't really hang around GS except to look at reviews and news and the like. But honestly people grow up. Reviewing a game badly based entirly on news that you don't even know is correct is just plain stupid. Yes he's probably been fired, but if they told you the truth and it wasn't what you imagine it to be then you're going to jump up in arms and whine cover up anyway. So what's the point in them disclosing anything that would only irritate the situation further? If they said they did it for Eidos then everyone feels great that they saw the truth and that they were right.. if they say it was because he was tired of GS and wanted to move onto something else you'll simply just complain they're lying.

So if the game sucks say it sucks.. it's no different then any other game, but saying it sucks "For Jeff." is purly moronic and you need to go back to kindergarden and grow up. Even if they did do it because of advertising pressure then they did what any other person would do. They wanted something that would be in their best interest money wise. To say you wouldn't do the same thing is grossly ignorant. It's the first rule of Economics. Noone or No coropration would intentionally do itself harm. So if that means bowing to Eidos or if their integrety ment more to them then money for ads then they would chose that. In the end of the day GS doesn't have any responsibility to it's subscribers. No different then any other company... It's only responsibility is to make money.

It's better then the legion of Jefffanboy/girls out there who are running off of a self rightous fury that has no basis on logic and only is revolving around a rumor. He could have left on his own. Though you refuse to listen to that possibility. Yes it does look bad, but you only have circumstantial evidence. If it was for that review he made then why is the review still there? Why didn't they try and covertly change it to a different reviewer? Ask yourself these questions and try and find out for sure if they fired him for the reason you think it is before you and your fellow fans jump for blood.

I agree. Played it on my pc with maximum settings, still looked terrible. Tried to play the beginning but the gameplay was just so terrible I couldn't even get myself to play it for more than half an hour before I erased it from my harddrive.

It SHOULD be become the lowest user ranked game ever, it's the worst game I ever played.

Sigmond I'm not a Jeff fan and 95% of his reviews I disagreed with but the reason he was fired for is what I'm angry about. If he screwing around and not doing what h was supposed to be doing I wouldn't care about him being fired but to be fired because of pressure from publishers for a less than satisfactory review is just wrong. How do you think all the other GS employees are feeling right now. Do you this won't have an impact on them and their future reviews?

I never liked Jeff, so I don't really care about him. I'm more worried about publishers buying off review sites to give inflated scores. As for K&L, it wasn't IO Interactive that did this, it was most likely Eidos, so why punish the developer??EnderSR388

This whole thing really pi$$es me off. First of all to you that think it was OK that Jeff was fired because his review was BS are a bunch of idiots. How are we ever going to expect to get fair reviews of anything if advertisers can influence the review score? Now everything on this site is subject to bias and dishonesty. This gives complete ammo to all system fanboys, and did a huge disservice to the "prestigue" of this site. Don't be such SHEEPLE.

Kane and Lynch 0/10 for me, and I will not be purchasing any Eidos games or visiting Gamespot anymore (excluding my rant here, and voting on Kane and Lynch)
