idk, ive never really been a halo fan. i like halo 1 and 2 and ive preordered the collectors edition of halo 3, but im not exactly preparing myself to be blown away
imho, ive always viewed halo as a tad bit overrated
I agree it is overrated and Halo is overhyped because my honest opinion is that it won't be much different to Halo 1 and 2 but I like both of them so it should be ok....C-J-Dodd
oh dude, even though i think halo is overrated i know enough to say that theres a very large number of changes and additions to halo 3 from halo 2
its a good multiplayer
and an awsome story it kinda makes you think its gonna happen at some time or maybe its real
Halo is the type of game that makes your whole gaming system worth having.
It's a great series that is done right and most everyone finds it a joy to play.
What hooked me first was the Co-op. There were a bunch on games with co-op before Halo, but not many good ones (That I played at least) most games usually have a couple of lame objective type co-op missions that wern't really satisfying. But Halo was just the main story with two players instead of one. The only game before Halo thatI rememebr having that kind of co-op was Red Faction 2.
Then I got interested in the story of the Halo universe. Halo 2 really opened up the covenant side of the story. (Understatement)
and the multiplayer...... It's hard to explain. it just feels like you have more freedom of movement around the levels. As well as more control over how you fight and maneuver through each battle. I don't really know what else to say about it. like I said, hard to explain.
Halo1: Halo was a revolutionary piece of art for the original Xbox. With gameplay concepts like recharging shields, balanced weapons, and an intruging story, Halo1 was the most original first-person shooter in 2001. Even though, the story's concept was stolen from the 1970 novel "Ring World".
Halo2: While screwed up in developemtn by Bungie, Halo2 was still phenomonal. It brought in an innovative multiplayer that people are still playing till this date. However, the singleplayer brought Halo fans down to the floor in disgust.
Halo3: What if you combined all the good in Halo1 and 2, and added in a tint of a secret ingredient into the mix? You would get Halo3. The game promises a satisfying singleplayer campaign, like Halo1. And an addicting multiplayer community, like Halo2. Also, with the "secret ingredient" that I mentioned, we will have so much variety in one box that you will be stunned by how your $60 was worth everything. Halo3 will have Forge, Eplison, rankings, saved films, and a singleplayer campaign that will have 4-player co-op and actual scoring for leader boards!
This is the reason why the Halo series was so great...
Its because everyone in the world loves to paintball or aspires to. The green Spartan helmet looks like Master Chief is into paintball therefore every one relates to him. secondomen
That was the dumbest thing I have heard all day lol...but in a way it does kinda makes sense?
It was the first to do a FPS really good on a console. Next to PC shooters it isnt that much but on the console it is 2nd to none.anime-2k3
I keep hearing this. While I may not be a hardcore PC gamer i have played my fair share of PC FPS. Have I been missing something. Just wondering but could you list some games IYO that are alot better then Halo. Thanks.

Half Life 2, Half Life, COD, BIA, Farcry, UT2k4, BF2 and the list goes on. Dont get me wrong like I say Halo is 2nd to none on the consoles but put Halo 2 Vista next to Half Life 2 and it is nothing.
Halo has a few distinguishing features:
Incredibly fluid and smooth gameplay and controls- not unheard of but it's really important.
Good story- Especially Halo 1 and we'll see about Halo 3. Halo 2 is ok. Honestly, what FPS fan doesn't love saving mankind by slaughtering concourses of aliens?
Multiplayer- Awesome! Customizeable enough to make it your own. Co-op is tons of fun.
yeah i wonder the same thing mani think its a great game especially halo 1, but halo 2 was overrated to me. i will be getting halo 3 but i am not in love with it.

I've played Half Life 2, Half Life, CoD, BIA and BF2.
I liked Half Life 2, but I enjoyed both of the Halos more and they both lasted me longer. Yes I did play the mods. Loved Garrys' Mod and every once in a while I play DoD.
Well my opinion is, its like a cult game in a way...
there are groups of people who absolutely love it... and there are people who think it is good but overrated(like me)
and there are people that think it absolutlely sucks...
it just depends if you loved halo 1 online if you did than you love the other 3 no matter what...
great story, even better multiplayer, and its the most ballinist game ever
im not drunk, im just crazy!
To people who don't play games on PC, Halo was the first decent FPS since Goldeneye. gintheplacetobe
Isn't it interesting that if you make a FPS with decent game console controller handling, it will be a instant success. I remember Goldeneye for N64, and it was a joy to play because obviously the developers spent time trying to get the controller sensitivity just right. I have no idea why all developers for all FPSs can't make decent controller sensitivity. I have never played any of the Halos, but if the control is right and the action is fast I will definitely be interested. But I'll wait for all of the hype to settle down before I buy a used version.
it's a good game, but people are taking it a bit too far. this is what marketing does, best 200mil microsoft ever spent.TENTHROW2
True. I loved Halo/Halo PC, but when it came to Halo 2/Halo 2 PC, I hated the campaign but the multi-player was the best part and I bought it just because most of my friends are on it. As for Halo 3, if it were to be a single-player game only, I probably wouldn't pick it up.
