It probably is new... I mean, "Alexander" for a gamertag seems VERY rare...Ashley_wweI don't think that account is online because it displays his achievements instead of his rep etc. Look at the first page pics.

i find it hard to believe it would have the live name alexander seeing as i thought that would be hard to have. maybe its a special console from alexander the great :)

seems to be fake now that I looked up the Alexander hey TC explain thisÂ

What's there to explain? This console has never been online. Someone else could have registered the gamertag 'Alexander' before whoever previously owned this console. Since it was never connected to Live, then there would have been no way for the service to determine whether that gamertag had already been registered or not. When you buy a 360 you can name your account whatever you want. It's when you connect to Live that you need something original; something the previous owner never did. So that 'Alexander' account you're looking at is completely unrelated.[QUOTE="kcpp2b"][QUOTE="Arena786"]i find it hard to believe it would have the live name alexander seeing as i thought that would be hard to have. maybe its a special console from alexander the great :)

I didn't know this but it makes sense, so when they go online they will ask him to change his name to something else.Â

Look at the second picture. The xbox IS connected to live because the options for "Friends" and "Xbox Live Marketplace" are there. If the 360 WASN'T connected to live "Connect to xbox Live" would be there instead.
It's strange that the 360 is connected to live yet he has no star rating for his rep. Even silver accounts have three stars by default.
I THINK THIS IS FAKE. TC should explain why he done this.
I'm back guys and I just want to thank you all for your support and I really hope this helps expose EB and their fraudulant activities. Here is an update on the situation. Â
I contacted EB cust service center and they filed complaint with the wrong district manager (the DM from Alberta actually) so he called me back first and agreed that what happened was very wrong and shouldn't have happened and said he would tell my local DM to contact me and assured me he would work out a resolution.
Well of course the local DM called when I was at work but left a message stating that they sell used systems and package them like new very often and that they haven't done anything wrong to me and refuse to help in the matter. Basically, they want me to shut up and keep a used system I paid full price for. I will be in contact with this DM personally tommorow and if I don't get results, I will go to the media relations of EB and tell them I will be doing a story about this in the newspaper and contacting the BBB as well as contact the police on grounds of fraud.Â

Whoa whoa whoa
This is sounding really fake dude. Why would they tell you they sell used stuff and package it as new? Are they on crack?
I find what they told you in your las paragraph to crazy to be true honestly. Basically they are telling you they are breaking the law and saying na na na na na...
LOL
And you said they left it on your answering machine dude? They left that on your message. Dude tape it, we all wanna hear this cause I don't believe it. And if it's true that is the dumbest person on earth man seriously...
I mean you can just play this message for a judge and get people in serious trouble and you could get a lot more then just a free game or somethingÂ
if u post the voice mail we will believe utacubano
Yeah this is too crazy to be true now. Now it just seems like someone who hates EBgames.
Post the voice mail dude if it's true
Yeah now he's quickly offline....man this was a waste of my time reading and posting in this thread. This can't be realÂ

You don't have to believe me but it's as true as can be. I find it hard to believe this actually happened. As for the alexander account on the system, I thought it was strange also why there is no star rating. But I did plug the system into my router but maybe that's just an offline avatar like someone mentioned, who the hell knows I don't have a clue where the system has been remember!CaptainCrazy\
Captain Crazy!!!
Show us proof, post your voicemail of them saying that cause I don't see how someone that dumb that would leave a message that basically incriminates them would be working anywhere.... Post the voice mailÂ
EBGames / GameStop sucks period. Never shop there unless you absolutaly have to. Even then, reconsider it.ehdinello
This is pretty bad, but I have never had a problem with EB before. In fact, they are generally a lot more helpful than bigger stores like Best Buy since they sell only games and if you go to the same one all the time, they get to know you and help you out when you need it. Stereotyping all the stores isn't exactly accurate. Still though, if they sold me a used 360 as new, I would be pretty angry, even though they probably didn't mean to.
I remembered when i bought my 360 from Walmart, when I came home i saw that the HDD was all scratched on the top really badly, and i thought that they had switched the HDD some how with an used one......I was gonna get my whole system replaced just because of that and then when i was trying to clean it to see if the scratches would come off, i noticed there was a transparent sticker on top of the HDD that was there to protected from scratches....when i took it off it look really shinny....stupid me.....i wonder if this had happened to anyone else!??!?!!?tacubanoOh, I got my 360 from Amazon and noticed the hard drive was all scratched up. I didn't really care about it much at all, but I need to check that out and see what's up with it.

yeah the transparent thing is so well glued to the hardrive that u wont believe is there...and think is all scratched..i bet you and me aren't the only ones with that problem
and by the way this thread is fake since the second photo does not show the stars of reputation but the number of games you have played meaning this is a photo from pre alpha/beta xbox dashboards.....he just put it there to make his joketacubanoHey, if you want to fly up to Canada be my guest, I will be glad to show you the exact same screen right on my TV, or you might try to zoom in or wahtever to see if it's photoshopped. But honestly, come on, why the heck would I go through that kind of trouble. I'm posting this story on here because EB has really pissed me off about how they scammed me and I want as many people to see this as possible.

I live in Vancouver but anywyas..........people can't trust u cause A LOT of peps post a bunch of false stories......
just put the link for the voice mail message and EVERYONE WILL belive u
See this is why I absolutly hate EB, all they do there is try to rip you off, even in illegal ways and they almost always are lying, the people that work their are either creepy or jerks (from my experience). For example my friend phoned EB up and they told him to come in the next day because they will have the Wii, so he goes there and they said they never received work of the shipment. Its been more than a month and still no word on it... I no longer go to EB unless I am forced to. bri360
Yeah i only go to eb if there is not other alternative, i usually go to a privatly owned store were i get new games for 10-20 dollars less than EB

Come on dude can you post the voicemail message?? Do you have a mic maybe someone can listen to it over MSN or something cause what you said they left you on your voicemail is to crazy to believe for most people on SW IMOÂ
Dude, that sucks. I work at an EB and thankfully nobody that works with me would ever pull that crap on a customer. That's completely lame. Some one should be fired if this was on purpose...call and talk to the manager. If they argue with you about it, then DEFINITELY begin to raise hell immediately. Haha, hope it works out for you dude. Oh, and by the way where did you purchase it? if you need, i may be able to talk to someone about it if it's close to my area.
No I can't put the message up on the internet and why does it sound so crazy? What I think is crazy is that EB managers seem to think its perfectly acceptable business practice to repackage used systems if they were "returns" without defects, that's why he "admitted" to selling it used for new price.CaptainCrazy
Now you just sound fake dude sorry. Why does it sound crazy?
They basically left you evidence on your voicemail that they do illegal things in their store. That's like coming out and saying " Hey judge it's O.J. just wanted to let you know I killed her but you can't send find me guilty cause I said so..... haha"Â

And it doesn't matter if something used is perfectly fine, it's used plain and simple and that is fraud. Sadly there's nothing you can really do to prove this to us and the story gets more far fetched as it goes
1st off, after sadly reading this whole thread the OP is lieing. It's pretty obvious and it's really sad you'd go through such lenghts to propogate a lie. Your pic shows that you ARE connected to Live, yet you have no star ratings and the tag Alexander would not be one that would be available. Also, there is NO way you would recieve taht message you said you recieved. Impossible
2nd, even if you weren't lieing the fact that you had a bad experience at one store doesn't mean all EBs are "evil". The EBGames I go to is a great store with great people working at it. I go out of my way to buy things there
This thread needs to be locked and deletedÂ

You honestly believe someone would leave that kind of a message on someone's voicemail especially in this situation where he could take legal action, go to papers or top management in EB
That's disgusting. EB tried to palm off a used version of Half Life as brand new to me and I haven't been back since. This is much worse.sazwolfWhen I USED to work @ EB I would always tell people the game was used (even though they would pawn it off as "New")and charge them "the used price". Maybe thats why they didn't ask me to come back, even though I wasn't seasonal? They suck, I no longer support them , they do business like that. Go to a real retail store if you want to get a console. (Oh yeah and don't get a warranty from that store if a diffent company is doing the warranty. If anything get a warranty from the actual manufactor.)
