What Gamespot Users have to say about Ikaruga

Great game, but behind the scenes, it isn't actually a "challenge" at all.
Note: 5 is average for my reviews Ikaruga is a very enjoyable game, but there is something you have to know that no other review will tell you. It is a hard game, but how nice it is to you makes it an extremely easy... Read Full Review

Regardless of the absurd level of difficulty, this game is a blast.
Let's get this straight right now. Viewtiful Joe is not hard. F-Zero GX's sweet little expert mode is not hard. Diablo II in hardcore mode is not hard. Ladies and gentlemen, Ikaruga is hard. Ikaruga, orginally r... Read Full Review

I urge you, as a gamer, to give it a fair shake. Sit down with it for an hour, even if you're not a shooter fan.
[Excerpted from my review on Trigames.] Ikaruga, the "spiritual sequel" to Radiant Silvergun, is a vertically scrolling shooter with several gameplay elements that sound simple in words, but are astronomically difficu... Read Full Review

If extremely hard and short games aren't your bag, you should just rent this classic; otherwise dig in, it's all yours.
Ikaruga is one of the most original shooters I've come across; rarely do shooters ever stray from the regular weapon collecting ordeal, while occasionally giving you a partner ship to help out. Ikaruga is quite different... Read Full Review

When being viciously beaten by a game feels damn good.
Ikaruga is really nothing more than a space shooter - it's even simplified in some ways, most notably the absence of any weapon powerups or collectables of any sort, for that matter. You use the control stick or d-pad to... Read Full Review

very hard but also very fun
Ikaruga is not for everyone. There's no point in being unrealistic here. It's for that rare breed of gamer who isn't afraid of inhuman challenge, who spends days practicing their routines, who will do anything to beat hi... Read Full Review

Tough as nails.
Ikaruga takes old-school style shooters to a whole new level. This vertical shooter may be one of the hardest games ever made. Even the Easy mode is incredibly tough. But the gameplay is very addicting and quite captivat... Read Full Review

A game that will keep you going for hours on end.
Ever since Ikaruga’s liberation, I was continuously attempting to stumble upon this title. Once I finally acquired this title, I concluded that it was worth the wait and played it for hours on end. It is the best pick-... Read Full Review
