That's the great thing about the internet. I should be able to comment on a 3-year-old post unless there is some specific reason I shouldn't be able to do so.
4670. I've tried the benchmark at 1368x768 and 1280x1024 w/4x anti-aliasing and everything maxed out it the high 50 frames. I don't noticed any real difference in quality with anti-aliasing at those resolutions though. No anti-aliasing it gets 80-100 fps.
I just got a 4670 and Unreal Tournament 3 runs as smooth as silk. Hell It ran as smooth as silk on my old 3450 (although at lower resolutions). I only need to go as high as 1280x1024 or 1386x768 however and it looks perfect. Can you really tell that much a difference on a gaming monitor at those high of resolutions?
I have no idea what my framerate on Crysis w/high settings with this card, I just know it runs at the exact same speed with no lag on 80x600 or 1280x1024 or 1368x768 (on my AOC TV). So I guess it's running the game the way it's supposed to be played. Awesome card for $55 Off Newegg.
I've been trying to switch to Linux for years, maybe I'm not experienced enough, but Linux isn't ready for the mainstream yet. Too much to go wrong on a daily basis. OS-X is probably the best OS, it's just like Linux but smoother. No way will I switch back to Macs though, they're too expensive. That said, Windows 7 so far is just like Vista. I'm surprised how everyone disses Vista. It's way better than XP, it's just not overall as fast, but that doesn't count for most decent modern computers.
