Long time no see!

Yeah, I haven't been here much at all. Miss you!

The last couple of times I've tried to do blogs, tv.com has pooped out and refused to post them, so I sort of gave up trying. :?

Things with me have been good. Busy, busy, busy...

NFA has moved to a new home! I love it. You should stop by. HERE'S THE LINK.

Speaking of moving to a new home, hubby and I are in the process of buying a house, renovating and moving. We probably won't be moved in until at least midway through July. I'll try to remember to keep you posted!

Late July and all's well!

I just realized I haven't blogged all month!

Things with me are good. Not much new to report.

Wicked was incredible!!! I cannot say enough about it! If you get a chance - GO!

I haven't been writing much of my main stories, but have been writing a lot of shorter stories as responses to NFA challenges, or just getting quick ideas. And I've been reading A LOT!

I've also been playing with Photoshop some. I am learning, but have a long way to go!

hmmm... I resized the banners down so they would fit, but for some reason photobucket is still showing the larger sized Gibbs banner. The only bad thing is that you can't see the right side... Maybe it will update later. Sorry!

It's fine now. :D Patience is a virtue... or so I hear!

Happy Monday! Short week! Woot!

Good morning, and a Happy Monday to you all!!

This weekend was a lot of fun, but extremely short, unfortunately.

I was totally shocked at The Hinky Awards, where my fanfiction stories actually won 26 awards!! Can you believe that?! I know I am having a hard time. :) Not that I'm complaining.

This is the week for Wicked! My family is already in town. We will spend July 4th together, will go to the show and do some shopping, and come back into town on Friday. Fortunately, I am off Wednesday-Friday. I wish I had the time to be off today and tomorrow as well, but no such luck. But a two-day work week is nothing to sneeze at. ;)

Friday! Another week down...

Happy Friday!

Looks like Chan's monkeys have found their way to my blog!

I hope your weekend rocks!

Bryan's niece is coming over this evening and will be here until Sunday. My mom and my nieces will be here Monday evening or Tuesday morning to prepare for our Wicked! trip. I'm SOOOOO excited!!!! But things are really busy right now.

Also, thanks to those of you who were there for me yesterday. My Grandmother was hospitalized again yesterday, and this time it doesn't look very good. She's been in congestive heart failure for about four years now. We're praying and hoping for the best. Any of you who believe in the power of prayer, please pray for my Mawmaw. I would very much appreciate it. Yesterday was a particularly hard day for me. Thanks again to my awesome friends who were there for me.

Anyhow, I have to go. Hope your weekend is phenomenal!!!!

Mellow Monday ...

Greetings all, and a Happy Monday to each and every one of you.

First of all, my boss is out of the office today for a funeral and we are slow, so I'm doing more playing than working today. Which is nice. :D:)

On a different note, a friend of mine who is a bigger Internet junkie than I am (if you can believe it) hasn't been online in almost 48 hours. Now, I stay really busy, have a life outside of my Internet addiction and fully recognize that someone could go that long without checking in. It's just wildly out-of-character for her and I'm starting to worry. Silly, huh? :( :) **EDITED to say - she's here now! I knew I was over-reacting, but still was concerned.**

Anyhow, I don't have much to say except that this will be a busy week. Hubby and I have been making some big changes with the house (spare room, storage, etc.), and we have quite a few things to finish this week before the nieces start arriving in shifts. Then, I'll have kids for a couple of weeks.

Just over a week until Wicked! I'm so excited!

Anyhow, hope your Monday is sun-shiny and your week is fantabulous.

Have fun and play nice!

My nieces went on vacation this week, and got to go to Kings Island. They didn't know they were going until they got there.

Where are we going?

I see it!!! Kings Island!!

Amazing Story!!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!

I don't have a lot of pretty graphics to share today, just a truly amazing story of how God can bless people through you if you will just get off your butt and do something. :D

My deaf ministry team has taken some trips to Nashville to minister to the homeless there. Because they're deaf? No. Just because we are a ministry team and sharing with people who need it is truly something we should all be doing, even if it isn't the primary focus of our particular group on a regular basis.

In February, our team found a Deaf homeless man named John. This was really shocking, as it is very rare for a Deaf person to be alone on the street. The Deaf community is very close-knit, and it is also common for an independent Deaf adult to receive government assistance of some sort. Our team was able to make a strong connection with this man, and even eventually earn his trust.

Most homeless people tend to stick in pairs for companionship and protection. John had no one with whom to communicate. His protection and companionship came from a large dog named Bear, who he loved dearly.

When we left in February, we told him we would be back. Since that time, different team members have stopped by and tried to find him, but were unsuccessful.

Our team went back last weekend (without me, as I was on vacation). They found John. Bear had been taken from him and put in the pound back in April, when John was incarcerated overnight for public intoxication. Left with no companionship or protection, and without his dog that had become his only true friend, he had lost the will to live. He had lost down to 128 pounds at 6'2". He had basically stopped trying to find food, and was drinking heavily daily.

He was so excited to see the team. They actually brought him back home with them! He is currently staying at one of the churches in town. We have provided him with food, clothes and a puppy. He loves the pup, a basset hound/beagle mix, who he named Oscar.

To beat everything, our director took John to the Social Security office yesterday to check on his benefits. The social worker was shocked at the situation. Apparently, his money has been there the entire time. He didn't understand how the system worked, and no one ever cared enough to take the time to explain it to him in a way he could understand.

Now, not only will he start receiving a monthly check that is substantial enough to support himself on, but he will also receive a check for 8 1/2 years of back pay! $54,000.00! If it had been any other kind of benefit it wouldn't have accrued. But the particular assistance he receives does accrue, and is owed to him.

The local Deaf community has completely embraced John. He is surrounded now by people who can communicate with him, and that really care. He has been sober for9 days, and is hoping to continue that way.

All I can say to that is God is AWESOME!!!! Praise the Lord!!

So many people sit back and do nothing because the simple fact is, you can't save everyone. But you can make a difference!

Happy Sunday, Vacation and NEW BANNER!!! WOOT!!

Greetings all, and Happy Sunday!

I wanted to say a quick hello before we leave for vacation today. Hope you all have a fantastic week. :D No work for me! Yippee!

I'm gonna take a moment to tell you about the very strange dream my hubby had last night. If you aren't interested, just skip to comments! ;)

Hubby dreamt that we were loading up at the hotel (from where we will be stopping mid-way tonight) and something had been spilled. He remembered he had some rags in his work van. He then proceeded to panic, because he wasn't supposed to have his work vehicle with him. He had to leave and take it back home.
When he was almost there, he noticed a helicopter flying really low. It looked like it was going to land behind him. He was so worried about watching it, that he sideswiped a taxi cab. So he pulled over at this gas station near our house, only in his dream it was a car wash. A Kentucky State Trooper pulled in behind him and began writing up the accident report.
While he was talking to the cop, he realized he was Special Agent Timothy McGee of NCIS and introduced himself. He and cop started talking about law enforcement, and the cop was looking in his van. The cop saw his scrub rags and was commenting on how well they worked. At one point the voice of the cop started to change, and fade out. He heard a voice say, "Probie, did you forget where you're at?"
He woke up sitting in a hospital recovery room waiting to interview a witness. Tony and Ziva were standing over him amused. Ziva was making a joke about expectant fathers, because he was sitting under some sort of sign about babies. Tony was saying McGee would never be a father because no one would have sex with him.
McGee had been dreaming that he was my husband.

So my hubby dreamed he was McGee dreaming he was my hubby. Strange, but hilarious.

Boom Chick-A-Boom!!

Happy Friday, little chickies!  I hope all is well!

Things are good here.  Hubby has been on call all week, which is frustrating, but he has managed to keep his mood up. YAY! :D

I'll be on vacation next week.  All week.  We are, of course, taking the laptop.  But I won't be online much.  And I doubt I'll be updating my story.  Sorry folks.

And we're not going on a big fun vacation, but to a conference with my church in the great state of Oklahoma.  Woot!  Don't hold back; I can feel your excitement all the way here.  :D

Actually, we are expecting a good time, and I'm very much looking forward to not having to go to work.

Speaking of work - something hinky's going on.  Lots of meetings behind closed doors.  I expect there are some major changes about to come down to all us little worker bees.

Anyhow, that's all for now.  I'm actually posting this Thursday night because work has been pretty busy and I may not have time in the morning.  :D

Have a   weekend, and play nice!!

But when every Monday comes you can find me crying all of the time...

But not really.  :D

It's always sad to say goodbye to another weekend.  But I'm on vacation next week, so this week should be MUCH easier to take at the office.  Plus the boss is out today.  :)

Adam has been working on creating the new site for NCIS fanfic, and it's coming along very well.  I hope he is ready to roll it out soon.  :D  I'm excited to post the first part of my new story, but am waiting for the new site.

I actually left for work 20 minutes early this morning because my hubby was in THAT bad a mood.  I suppose everyone has their days.  He was on call this weekend, and had to work pretty much every day.  He didn't get  home until after midnight last night.  When he got up this morning to do his weekly reports, the printer decided not to work.  I kissed him and very quietly left early.  Hubby in a bad mood is rare, and I'm not typically fond of it.

That's about all for today!  Have an awesome week!  Have fun and play nice!

Finally Friday!!! Woot!

Good morning!

A very happy Friday to you all!!!!

As much as I'm grateful to have a job, the weekends are the only reason I can get through the week!

Very short blog today.  :D We don't have a lot of big plans this weekend.  Some, but not a lot.  My Deaf ministry team (Hands In Service) has a bonfire this evening, which should be a lot of fun.  Tomorrow we have a graduation party for a friend who graduated from High School last week.  Then it's off to Lexington to play games with a different group of friends than I played with last weekend.  Sort of.  It looks like the friends who played last week may be joining us this week.  :D

I'm sitting here completely and totally ROFL at my younger cat.  She is absolutely beautiful, but doesn't have the sense God gave a box of hammers.  Bless her heart.  My older cat is as clever as the younger is batty.  Anyhow, the younger cat has another rubber band.  I don't know where she finds them, but it is always entertaining to watch.

Have a fantastic weekend!  I know I will.  :D

Have fun and play nice!!!!
