gaming is full of scams. why did konami split the MGS4 games into 2? why do developers charge for DLC? why do developers release awful movie tie-ins. to make money!

personally I don't mindpaying £40 for a years subscription. after all I was sold the console at a loss to Microsoft. and they need to make their money somewhere else. I'd rather pay £40 for that than 'Haze' (cheap shot?) and kill my friends in Liberty City or 14 year old Americans in Halo 3. it is easy to use and fun. if you don't want to pay less that £1 a week (or whatever it is in America, cheaper no doubt) to play online, then don't. And get back in your box.

What? Did I miss something, I only bought the one game.

So PS3 fans whatever happened to gamerankings mattering huh? I agreed with you guys back in november about that, so why are you guys saying the you guys now have the best library?

Lets look at the numbers on gamerankings

Above 90 (Including games that got 89.5 or up)

360 - 12

PS3- 5

Exclusives above 90

360- 4 (and more if you count console exclusives)

PS3- 1 (MGS4)

familycircusfan

This might have been asked before but where are you getting the 4 from for the 360?, I only see two (Halo 3 and GRAW).

Which makes:

360: 2

PS3: 1

People said the same thing about MGS4, that even if it was worth a 10 it wouldnt get it because GS wouldnt give 2 10's so close to each other. At the end of the day, if the game deserves a 10 it will most likely get it.

Dude, don't take one word out of my whole statement and base your argument around that. This is just my opinion, I know that, and I am basing my purchase around that. If you can sit through all those cut scenes, then more power to you. I didn't say it was wrong to make this game, I said that in the context of most games, having so many cut scenes to where you end up having 1/3 of the game a movie, then there is something fundamentally wrong with that. I just didn't agree with the path this game took. If you, and a lot of the MGS fans out there like it, then like i said, more power to you. But, I would think, you being a fan of the series, you would want as many people as possible getting their hands on this game, so more people would want to play the previous games and really become a fan themselves. The way he made this game, I don't think this is going to happen. I think it will turn off a bunch of the newer gamers to the series. But, this is only my opinion, do with it what you will.

I see where your coming from and I do agree that the many cutscenes will deter people (like yourself).

But I personally feel that theres no wrong or right way to make games, if no one buys a certain type of game, developers will stop making them. I just think its up to the market to decide whats wrong and whats right, just my opinion.

I know it was debunked, but just think about it, for every 2 minutes of gaming there will be 1 minute of cut scenes. There either has to be a lot of short cut scenes or some very long ones in the first place. Any time there is 1/3 movie to game play, Something is wrong. I play games not play movies.
loftus42

Have you played any previous MGS games?, they were all pretty cut scene intensive, theres nothing wrong here.

If you dont like it, dont buy it, its really not that hard.

Yup, You just pin pointed my whole argument. I play games not movies. I won't be buying it. And yes i have played most of them, I didn't play MGS3 though, And even MGS 2 was getting long, but it was still livable. This is not, in my opinion.

Thats the experience that Kojima wants to give gamers, you may not like it but many do. My point is there is nothing wrong with it, its just prefrence. We buy the games we like and avoid the games we dont, but saying its wrong to make a game in a paricular way because you dont like it is ridiculous.

[QUOTE="omarguy01"]i want it to happen as much as the next 360-mgs fan but i find this "evidence" a little too hard to believe hahahaDante2710
yup, dont know why some are getting excited over this, Kojima is loyal to sony, and doesnt like the 360 as far as im concerned....so if they want to play this game so badly, then their best bet is to get a 360

lol, I think you ment PS3

Do they say new on them? No..

199 > 269

199 (2 games and 2 controllers) > 199

Oh jee let me see here... Why is there a great deal on this? Because it a referb duh. It's not branded as new and if you can't tell from the lower price and the extra stuff that it's a refurb... You need some help.

Truth_Hurts_U

Im sure this argument will hold up great in court.

So now any time there is a sale on electronics I will assume they are refurbished unless the box says new?

[QUOTE="LibertySaint"]do u know what it emans to be in 1 on the gamespot board? it means it was linked to the most stories that had a lots of views to those stories. it doesn't mean sold or better or anything like that, like omg lol....-GhostMLD-

meh.. i'm well aware of what it means to be number one on GS, and considering that most GTAIV articles here (on GS) will automatically link you to the 360 version, this signifies that there is more interest in the PS3 version on a site compromised of majorally 360 users as well. I never said anything about sales, the point was based varying interest levels. Like I said I don't care who wins the console war.

"the point was based varying interest levels"

ever thought that most 360 GTA4 players are I dont know.......playing the game and the PS3 players are getting traffic up to pretend that the PS3 version has more interest.

Lol, yeah thats completely logical, 360 owners are playing the game, and PS3 owners, who have the same game are coming on gamespot and trying to get the traffic on the PS3 version up so they can brag about it on system wars. Theres no other possible explanation.

On topic: yeah i noticed that and found it a bit weird, assumed it was because there where a few articles about the patch for the PS3 GTA4.
