@stan_boyd @Lhomity @pal_080 Then it's up to Notch to decide if he want's to sue or not. I believe he wont because that does not sound as him or Mojang at all. But at the same time some of those Minecraft clones has their own ideas and koncepts that is layered on top of the base concept.
""Sony and Microsoft cannot let the retailers dictate game prices going forwards if they want to break free from the current over-priced model," he said."
This can go either way. I would embrace this model IF that actually meant that games stopped costing 90 to 100 dollars (I live in Sweden) for new games. The problem is that I don't see publihers doing this today on Live or PSN. New full games stil cost A LOT and on top of that they ignore the market and supply and demand since these games cost the same for a looooong time and by that point reatil stores havelowered their price greatly compared to the digital copy on Xbox 360.
Are publishers actually ready to do this? To lower the cost and hope that games in the long run get more maintream and enticing to buy just like the movie or music market? That would expand the market BUT are they willing to do it?
I feel like this is not they same as adapting or changing because of your audiences wishes. It would be totally cool if Doom 4 had this tweak because id learned from their "mistake" in Doom 3 BUT to put this tweak into an almost 10 year old game and change the fundamental dynamics of it is not to adapt to your audience but rather changing history. That is what Brendan is telling you!It feels kind of wierd that a collectors pack with the old games don't actually contain the old games but rather changed versions. I have no problem with some type of directors cut but to change gameplay mechanics is quite a change.
It can be fixed easely though. Make it an option. It can not be hard to implement unless you tweaked the whole goddamn game to make up for the change in tempo and by that state the whole game has changed.
You could also ask yourself if this should be classified as an Collectors/HD Edition or something else. It actually feel more like the focus is on that this is a remaster of the old game. I really don't know what to think...
@Languid_logic @stellarnim Directors cut's exist but I don't think it's really the same thing. I will dig up my post in the sea so you can see how I reason on this subject.
@stellarnim That can't be a argument, right? Test screening would be the same as alpha or beta test. That is not the final product and has still time to get changed.

I really hope Crystal Dynamics DON*T change the direction they are taking this new Tomb Raider. I have never liked the series and this game is my most anticipated games right now and have been since last year or so.Also... the game has some kind of open world/hub element to it. Some people in the game press have seen it and written about it. They just decided to not show it during E3 or after. To bad since many people lashed out at the game be because the demo made it look extremly linear. This game looks frikken awesoem and I can't wait to get to see more of it!
