Thats complete bull. I am not buying a book to understand whats going on. If its not in the game then thats the games fault for poorly presenting the story. What are all games gonna come with books now? Yes the books are good but I shouldn't feel obligated to read them to understand what's going on in full detail.

On the contrary, in some way the story in the games pales in comparison the the Halo universe.

Hell, the games when it comes to story, is lacking.

I could list off a whole bunch of books that make Halo novels look like they were meant for people with a low IQ, but then again the truth would make all lemmings cry. You want a good story, read something like Elantris by Brandon Sanderson or The Silmarillion by J.R.R Tolkien, those are real books with real stories, Halo is horrible by comparison to any real piece of literature.
