I've had some playtime with the PS3 and didn't like the controller this time around. The main reason is I thought it was too light. I think this is due to the lack of rumble. I dunno but for some reason it just feels "empty". The rumble may indeed give controller the added weight that they need to feel more "solid". However, this is totally my opinion and is debatable.
The biggest gripe I had was with the sixaxis. I thought it was pretty lame. I tried it playing the motorstorm demo on a retail PS3 (not store demo) and found it so clunky that I had to turn it off. It was unatractive. I imagine they will make better use of it in the future but until I see that happening I think its a poorly designed gimmick.
To each his own, and this shouldnt be that big a deal.
What Wii is doing is to differentiate itself from PS3 and X360 and divide the casual and the hardcore gamers. So far, they are succesful of identifying PS3 and X360 as "for hardcores" and define itself as "for fun" which is mostly identify the casuals.Zaistev_basic
This seems to be the principle around here. I'm not sure who thought of this because I have a problem with it. See, I have treasured my Nintendo products (for what their worth as video games) even since the launch of the NES.
Let me ask... how many ppl here have stood in line to get an NES at launch back in 1985? Well not many because it wasn't until the 2nd release that was totally worldwide and available basically everywhere (which was the following year). I did. I was just a kid with my mom at K-mart and we put it on layaway. When we came back we got the mario/duck hunt package and she bought my 10-yard fight to go with it. Ever since I've been a loyal Nintendo fan (not because of some offset mind issues) because they consistantly pump out the best 1st party games. So much that in fact all other consoles I've ever owned I put in the 2nd connection slot on my tvs because if anything were to go...it wouldnt be the Nintendo.
The Wii is no different. It's as much fun as I can remember when I was little and in fact if I was a kid now I'de be going bonkers over this thing. Even Zelda TP blows me away after playing games such as GeoW. That's what I call...a miracle on Nintendo's part. They appeal to each and everyone deep down inside their heart's if they just give it the slightest chance. Perhaps a few doesn't agree with its strategy but hopefully they'll see the light someday. Nintendo could flop much like any other company. I'll just say that I for one am glad to see them still around (along with millions of others apparently).
edit- the point of my post is to show you that im most certainly hardcore and I couldnt go without the Wii.
FACT: GTA RIPOFF ALWAYS SUCKpalaric8
Yeah I know...I wish 360 could get GTA4 when cows get it....oh wait! I have GTA3+VC+SA, Saint's Row, and picking this one up soon. It's not like you HAVE to play the game. But I'de rather take some clones then nothing until GTA4 comes out. I actually think Saint's Row is very descent and enjoyed it just like GTA3. But if you think they all suck then its your loss!

Awesome graphics average game imo from what I've seen.

Interesting. Since this is an fps and should be compared to other fps titles, what would you consider above average?
[QUOTE="peter1191"]Well? Is a PS3 fan a gamer? And old nintendo fan a gamer? Who? I ask this because people say the Wii is for casuals, not "true" gamers. So, what is a gamer? And, if you define it as those few who play games as a hobby, do you know how small that percentage is in the market? What is a gamer? One who likes blood and gore, deep storylines, or fun gameplay? Well, does a gamer take his fun "seriously" as I have seen a person in this board say? I like to know why true gamers don't player the WiiJavy03What people mean is that most of the games on the Wii so far tend to be Party games and Mini games. These are far from deep games like MGS, Zelda, FF, Resident Evil and many other games that are less pick up and play with 5 people and more based on single player story mode. I am not saying one is better then the other but I think party games are fun and all but deep games tend to have lasting gameplay.
Thats all your opinion and the millions of ppl who own a Wii thinks otherwise. I can assure you that even with just Zelda being the deepest game so far, its miles beyond anything I've played on 360 so far. I enjoy my 360 ALOT and if I had to choose just one console to own for next-gen it would be the 360 (i suppose) due to vast library of games. But without the Wii, we'de have the same stale gaming and besides for pure gamers its a no-brainer anyway.
360, for me the Wii is not casual...all that moving, oh my im tired just thinking about it.

That's in your head. The ppl moving around are simply trying to advertise for the Wii. Sure your girlfriend or whoever may like to run around the room like a chicken with its head cut off (having fun nonetheless) but I can simply sit on my couch and flick my wrist. Bottom line is that with the increased motion detection I have a little more accuracy, plus I feel more engaged in the action. Tis hard to explain but its like the endomorphens (spellcheck) in your brain are triggered with the wiimote in your hand and somehow everything feels super casual and funlike.
