[QUOTE="Shadow_Elite192"]NG 2 will get a better score.fuzzysquash
Comparing a 360 game to a PS2 game....that's fair....

Well seeing how the PS3 is unable to compete/keep up with 360 at the moment, why not PS2?  If I was a cow I would treasure this moment and go head on with any game on any platform with its score.  Now is the time to do so, am I right?

If I had to make an educated guess on the matter, then I would say that most that cruise through these forums are hermits or at least part hermit.

Why is simple.  Because they/you must have pcs (or access to) to log onto gamespot.  So naturally they probably play pc games from time to time.  Whether it be casual or hardcore, but I'm willing to bet there's a little online geekness to us all.  Afterall, what super casual console gamer would even be here instead of just gaming period?

What's good about spending hundreds of dollars on new hardware that's obsolete after 3 months+, has no good video drivers, are not able to play games using your surround sound speakers because of the buggy Creative drivers that I mentioned in my earlier post and not being able to play THE BEST games which are almost always on consoles. I mean in the end, it's all about the games so hardware does not even play that big of a role anymore bud. DaddyDC650

Alright I agree with you on spending hundreds of dollars on neverending hardware for pc isn't exactly thrilling so to speak, video drivers right now aren't the best, and I dunno about your surround sound not working but mine is.

Anyhow, I think your terribly wrong in the last part of your paragraph. In the end, hardware does INDEED play a huge role. Probably now is the worst time for me to argue this topic since we're still in the first year of the PS3. I will give it to you... the 360 has pulled off insanely good looking games with good framerate. PS3's getting stuff like Motorstorm soon, and etc. Well see that's where it ends, for the most part.

Because about this time next year the pc with the latest hardware (should come down in price) will most definately dominate the consoles and slowly month after month you will start to see the 360 and PS3 turn into Xbox 1 and PS2. Okay so your thinking well they still pump out the best games! True they'll have plenty of good games...which is why I said "for the most part". Because we all know that later in console's lifespans that they pull out more amazing games (although numbered).

The pc however will have many, many, many games that would be too advanced to run on consoles over the next 5-8 years that could only be watered down majorly to perform well on consoles. Dont forget that 2004 was a great year for pc gamers...they had many good hits that consoles at that time would go up in smoke trying to run. I predict Crysis 2 to make even you want to upgrade your pc for (probably not even debatable). Alan Wake looks like its coming at a good time (early next year maybe) to be the breaking point in which pcs will start to shine for next-gen.

So yes hardware will play a significant role not so long from now when dx10 games come rolling out.

*edit- I like console games so im with you, but saying hardware doesnt matter anymore is kinda silly.  I can garantee you that if Sony gave you the option to upgrade the videocard in the PS3 next year (for a small fee) then you'de be all over it (if it meant running same games with better frames/graphics.

We'll be doing 120 FPS in 1080p TRUE-HD!!!!!!11111111111"Bleach_is_basic

Yeah dont forget Sony said unless its 1080p then its not TRUE-HD!!!!  720p/1080i is only HD-LITE!!!!  ie Regular HD!!  But not TRUE!!!!   I'm still trying to figure out this day what true-hd is.  I have a plasma and games/movies at 720p looks like HD to me.  I went to Best Buy and saw the 1080p lcd with Sonys blu-ray player and it looked the same if not worse with artifacts.  To me it looks as if they took a step backwards.  Some ppl claim that the 1080p blu-ray is working better now, but until I can see something better with my own eyes then I'll steer away from TRUE HD!!!!!!!

I think it was the company of Sony that messed up system wars, instead of the lems/sheep/cow/herms.  Sony over promised bigtime with their 4d 120fps dual hdmi claims and pc soon to be worthless stunts.  LOL  Because of this, you can't help but to be against it.

It seems alot of ppl are misinformed in this thread.  Last year Sony claimed 4d was possible with PS3 and that it would replace the pc.  Yes thats right, said it would literally replace pcs.  Dual hdmi 120fps games with 2 screens at 60fps a piece.  Sony is the jack of all hype and master of no truth.

To the tc.. yes 60+fps would make a difference in nearly every game.  It's hard to compare on console because most games are optimized to run around 30fps, which is good.  But if you were to take the same game and play on pc with a high end rig then you'de see the difference.  You wouldn't ask because there wouldn't be any slowdowns anywhere and the game would just run smooth as butter ALL of the time.

Prime example for this would be Quake 4.  While it wasn't a good port, still you can tell because of its slower frames that its hard to keep up online and the pace of the game just drags at many instances.  On the pc with much higher frames... no such problems.  I can say the same for R6Vegas, too.  While it runs sweet on X360 (ive played it) the game runs better on high end pc with no hiccups (like virtually none).  But it takes mighty strong hardware to do this (8800 series, e6600+).  Before someone says that kinda hardware isn't needed.. well its not but if you want to game at a level higher then 360, then you do need it.  It's as simple as that.  The PS3 was supposed to have hardware that was leaps and bounds better than X360 (since sony said so) therefor have no problem running games 60 fps all the time.

Lastly, I love my Wii and your right about the fun in games regardless of the frames.  Gaming should be about fun and if its not, whats the point?  However, when you have graphic intensive games such as Motorstorm, Gears, and MassEffect then it certainly helps to have at least 60 fps.  I know because I've much fragtime with UT, Q3, PK, etc and I know it does make a difference.  If you think otherwise, then you simply haven't gamed at over 60fps with all the bells and whistles on.  Suggestion for you.... DON'T!!  It could ruin your whole 'Motorstorm is godly' experience.
