I like replayability as long as its not that forced, perfectionist, achievement/trophy farm that games now days try to pass off as "replayability." There's no fun in that.

I bought MW3 based on the hype when it was released. Played it for about 4 hours. Haven't touched it since.
Budget?
I'm pretty flexible on budget. Let's say $1000-$2500
I remember when Blizzard first introduced micro-transactions to WoW, the sales pitch was that it would all be cosmetic changes that didn't affect gameplay at all (pets, mounts, etc). Wow is such a cash-grab game now. I'm glad I stopped playing it 3 years ago.
I agree - FPS games are over saturated. With that being said, Borderlands 2 was incredibly addicting.
Hello!
Anyone have any recommendations/suggestions on where to buy a good gaming laptop? I like to do LAN parties and prefer a gaming laptop over a desktop for travelling purposes.
Obviously best price/performance, bang-for-your-buck is what I'm looking for.
Always start with troubleshooting software first (Windows, Startup Items, Malware, etc) when there's an unexplained slowdown. 90% of the time, slowdowns are caused by malware (Virus, Adware, etc).
Scan your PC with a virus scanner, and then scan with Malwarebytes. CCleaner is also a pretty nifty tool for cleaning up hard drive space and fixing registry errors.
The pyschological damage done to cows last gen is coming back to haunt lems, we all can see that. Console fan boys should be ashamed of themselves for battling over resolution and fps. It's all about exclusives and what game I can't play because I don't own a particular system. Rubbing resolution and fps in my face about a multiplat doesn't do anything. I'm still playing the same game and getting the same experience.
Finally, console wars about resolution and fps are pointless. The war needs to be about exclusives and what you can't play because you don't own that system. Console Resolution Wars always end up with "I can play this on pc at 4k 60fps". Lems and Cows need time to reflect and battle a new topic.
Truth
This isn't surprising at all. Microsoft is selling a console that relies almost completely on 3rd party games, yet it plays those games worse than its competition and costs $100 more. I don't expect sales to really even pick up when they release the diskless version for $400. They need to release a diskless, kinectless version for $300 or they are going to have a very rough time this gen.
Expain why the Xbone has more exclusives out and announved then? Also, why do Cows continue to lie and make shit up? It isn't like you fool anyone. It just makes you look sad and desparate.
I'll try to explain why the X1 might not be purchased by some gamers this gen...and I'm not talking about the fan boys that get one brand exclusively. I have bought all the consoles each for the last several generations. I like gaming. I like being able to play games I might not get if I restricted myself to only one or even two consoles.
Nintendo will always be Nintendo. To play their games....you have to purchase their console. Which isn't that bad of a deal since their consoles cost less. I believe they should always be the companion to whichever other console you buy...two should be the minimum.
On to Sony and MS. Both consoles have the same multi plats. What sets them apart is the exclusives. MS has a racing franchise and shooters. I don't really like either of the genres TBH. I bought my 360 before the PS3. It was less expensive at launch and had a price drop...which is when I picked mine up. I still had PS2 and Xbox games to keep me busy. I really don't early adopt. But looking over my library on the 360....most games were multi plats. I start a series on one console then I get the sequels on that console as well. So I enjoyed both consoles because I had games on both.
Now we come to this gen. Using last gen as a guide...and looking over announced games....MS doesn't really have much to sell their system to me at this time....and it's the more expensive console. The games I want I can get on the PS4. It costs less....has exclusives I do want.....or will judging by the first parties Sony has.....and has better specs. I am also working on building a gaming PC which gives me the option to still play MS games without a console.
Anyway....I think just labeling people as animal names does little justice to the thought processes that go into buying decisions. If down the line MS does something incredible...it's possible I'd pick one up....after a price drop or two though. It just doesn't look like that is going to happen going by history.
MS seems to be more interested in being a hub for entertainment than a gaming company IMO now.
Most sane post I've ever seen in SW. I give you a thumbs up. :)
I've been a PC gamer for 14 years. Prior to that, I was a console gamer. It took me a bit to get used to a keyboard/mouse setup, but not impossible. That being said, some games are just simply played better using a controller.
I think my biggest draw to PC gaming was the multiplayer culture, actually learning how to manipulate and configure PC hardware, game modding, and some games that you just can't experience properly on a console such as RTS games, FPS (trust me, FPS on a PC was far superior to consoles 14 years ago). The reason I am in the career I am in now is thanks to the knowledge I acquired from PC gaming.
From the eyes of a PC gamer over the last decade, a lot of the "features" that console gaming now offers was already available to me 14 years ago (online gaming, chatting, expansion packs/patching, DLC, etc). I go back to console's every now and then to check out the "must have" exclusives, but I'd rather play on a PC if it is multiplat.
As far as tweaking graphic settings, upgrading hardware, and adding in external modding is concerned, it really comes down to the game or games you want to play. There's no need to have an over-the-top $3000 gaming PC if all you plan on doing is playing Starcraft 2. It is, however, liberating to know that I have that option should I need it.
TL;DR
Like with any other gaming platform, do your research on the games you want to play. Build your gaming PC to accommodate to that, and you'll have the best PC gaming experience possible to you.
