Crackdown is the game to get. It is much better than Saints and more fun than GTAIV. While it doesn't have much of a story the insane action and fun gameplay more than make up for it.
The RRoD is not as bad as you see here at GS. Most of the posts of people saying they got RRoD are usually Sony fanboys trying to bash the 360 so they can try to make themselves feel that they made the right choice with buying their console. The RRoD is not a serious problem anymore, just keep your 360 well ventilated and you will have no problems.
Get an Xbox 360. It is the best value for your money, it has the best controls, and it has an amazing library of games. All you need to do is buy a 360 with the following games and you will be gaming for the rest of your life: Halo 3, Gears of War, Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 & 2, Crackdown, Assassin's Creed, NHL 08, and many other games that would take too long for me to list. The 360 is easily the best console of this generation.
