I think that Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty has gone beyond five million copies in connection with sales.

Halo is an indescribable series that as a whole is a wonderful story. Bungie did a wonderful job advancing a lot of new things and breaking a lot of new ground. Polishing a lot of the other ground that wasn't yet smooth. Halo 3 had it's ups and downs, but let's face it, it was NOT by any means a bad game. The over all response to just the games release spells that. 170 million (USD) made on it's RELEASE date. 300 million (USD) in seven days after the launch. Let's face it, there are not any other games that have come close to this. With any kind of accomplishments there are those that are jelous, or just want to downplay it.

This is what this thread is, an attempt to downplay a work of art in the gaming community.

Just chill, and play, if you don't like the game, then leave it alone. God knows we have enough threads bashing games, and that's all fine if the game actually did suck. There are plenty of games out there that actually suck so let's attack them and give them something to work on rather than criticizing something great and acting like it wasn't a milestone.

Now get out there and smack around some actually crappy game.

That's right. Halo: Combat Evolved was a victorious video game in relation to critics. Halo 3 is a successful video game in connection with sales. A factual blockbuster.

Nothing, really. I guess you could consider Fable 2 or Gears of War 2, but compared to MGS4, they're minigames.princeofshapeir

Fable 2 IMO is 1-2 generations ahead of Drake in every way, bar the textures, ALL others like scale, lighting, detail, shadows, dynamic world ALL vastly ahead of Drake, Uncharted is a joke in graphics comparing to Fable 2 for me, and that is an understatement too

I think he likes this game too much. I still don't see how this game can even come close to looking equal to Crysis or better than Uncharted.

Neither do I. At this point, Fable 2 reminds me of games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and I'm not jesting! I don't think that it will wind up being a technical extraordinary work of art.

lol, denial at its finest. Ive seen the presentation of Fable 2 on GTHD, and its NOTHING compared to Uncharted graphically. I cant believe lemmings even went into the trouble saying Fable looks technically better than Crysis :lol: Just shows Lemmings cant be taken AT all seriously anymore.

Gears of War 2 is coming out too fast. How the heck do you really expect a quality game with such a short timespan between Gears of War 1 & 2. There's a reason why games like Final Fantasy 13 and Starcraft 2 have been in production for so long.... high standards! Gears of War is following the EA formula for sequels and we all know how well that has worked out.

Epic has shown with the Unreal Games that it is more focused on grinding out half-entertaining sequels quickly instead of following Valve's formula and waiting years until a true quality sequel can be produced. Most of the Unreal Tourneys in recent years have been mediocre and failed to live up to the quality originality spawned with the first game.

Add in that Cliffy B, the lead developer of the first game seems to have distanced himself from the series now, and I think you have a recipe for disaster. Hyping this game AAA will FAIL. Expect AA.

I'm not sure, but I actually think that Gears of War is more gratifying than Halo 3. Nonetheless, I'm not sure. However, Halo 3 is more epic, if you ask me.
