Typically when one says they hate the PC version of any game, its one of two things:

1. The Game Itself Is A Bad Port

or

2. The person voicing this opinion is a "Fan Boy"

I'm not dissing the OP, I am just saying...

Well that said and all, I enjoyed Halo on the PC much more than I did on my XBox. There are typically a couple of factors that will determine wether I play a game on a console or on PC, again if the PC version is a crappy port, or if it was ported/designed to operate properly on the PC.

For Example: Scarface

PC: It failed horribly. Many people were unable to play it out of the box, with even the most recent graphic cards.

Console: Decent game overall.

In the case of Halo, it worked fairly well on the PC, and as a PC gamer, I would rather stick with the pc.

Overall point, every one has differing opinions, don't diss someone elses because it differs from you're own.

Just saying, the PC version felt unnatural.

So, has anyone ACTUALLY won an Xbox 360 from the sweepstakes? I was always so curious to know if anyone actually did.

Halo was originally designed for the PC... and IMO it's superior to the Xbox version.

with_teeth26

Hellz No! Halo is the best when you playing coop on the couch, that's something PC gamers miss out on (unless you own an Xbox)

you haven't seen my crazy LAN setup!

That doesn't bring Co-op to the PC though...

[QUOTE="nutcrackr"]Yes it does. Assassin's Creed 2 also has the UPLAY DRM. Says down the bottom of games on the store "A PERMANENT HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED...." That will let you know that it requires UPLAY.

Oh. Well, are there any intrusive softwares like Securom in it?

Now let me set something straight I admittedly liked a COUPLE other games, and that only one good game was an overgeneralization. BUT i do think Super Mario Advance, but I still think the great games, especially ones that aren't remakes or port are limited to Fusion, SMA, and Kirby ATAM

[QUOTE="0Hamburgher"]Only great game for the GBA in my opinion was Metroid Fusion. That game makes the GBA better than the 3DO. Also the ports sucked! Tekken (not a direct port) Street Fighter, Doom, etc.Litchie

Fusion, only great GBA game? Haha, no dude. And the Doom games weren't that bad. I liked having a small portable Doom. And Tekken was fun.

What games do YOU think were great on the GBA aside from those ports I listed?

[QUOTE="roflcopter317"]

Sure, you have your opinion. I was a PC owner since I could remember, and Halo is just as good as half life and what other pc games??? So no, 360 gamers don't have lower standards. And what other 'great' pc shooters are there? Doom 3, crysis and Unreal tournament 2004? Sorry, but they are not high standards. Pull your head out of your a**.

I can't see how halo got so much hype! The epic story about you saving the universe, the revolutionary combat, the vehicular combat, the massive levels, the amazing art, the characters, awesome level design, it was just a marvel of a game that most games even this gen can't match.

roflcopter317

Here are the PC shooters/shooter RPGs that I feel are superior games to Halo, for various reasons. Mostly because I feel they simply play better and are more fun. Just my opinion, but they do all rate very highly in most publications. Remember, I have played Halo on X360 and on PC. You have no right to tell me to pull my head out of my ass. Been playing shooters since the late 90's, been there, done that. You'll never get my agreement that Halo is as good as Half-life. I don't think it's even close. These were all released either before Halo, or within a year or so afterwards:

Deux Ex, Half-life, Elite Force, Counter-strike, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001), Unreal (original), Aliens vs. Predator, Soldier of Fortune, Starsiege Tribes, Unreal Tournament (UT99- I still play this version sometimes because I think it has the most fun deathmatch and capture the flagever), No One Lives Forever, Medal of Honor-Allied Assault... the list goes on.

Good job by trying to compare RPGs to fps since they are completely different *sarcasm*. So resting aside RPG type games, the closest matches to halo would be unreal, half-life, counterstrike, the star wars games, wolfenstien, avp, and soldier of fortune. What is the same about all of these games? They are generic. All of them are basic point and shoot things through massive long corridors, nothing innovating at all. And most of them are multiplayer only games with no campaign. Lets go through each game...

Half-Life: There is nothing new about this game that hasn't already been done before, bad storytelling, bad characters (it was made in 1999 though). But everything else was done very good. That doesn't mean half life wasn't fun.

Unreal: Nothing new. Still a fun game though.

Counterstike: I have racked up many days playing this game. It has no campaign. It is good, but it lacks one thing; Versitility. There is only two gamemodes, bomb or hostages. Very very slack.... It is meant to be a multiplayer only game! But halo 1 out-does it! The most innovating thing about this game is it's introduction of weapon bloom, but that is it.

Star wars: Nothing new.

Wolfenstien: Nope.

AVP: New things it introduced was playing as different types of characters (marine or alien etc).

Soldier of fortune: Nothing new. Bad story, fun game.

Halo: Combat Evolved: They gave it the name of 'Combat Evolved' for a reason.... It's shield system made every encounter with an enemy interesting and different, along with it's melee system, offhand grenade throwing system, and it's interesting weapons. Sticky grenades where a real ground breaker if you ask me. Another good thing about halo's combat is how different every weapon realy is, it also makes encounters more interesting. It's campaign was amazing, one of the first gameswith a very good narative, with people actualy speaking loads throughout the game, not known from in halo's era. It's story telling was amazing too. As well as inventing 'set piece' levels in the gameing world (e.g, the sniping mission). And just look at the art... The AI was groundbreaking at the time, with the good characters to back that up. The level designs where so massive in the campaign, which held epic battle after epic battle, never seen before in video games. This all backed up by the amazing soundtrack, which gives me the shivers just listening to:

"Brothers in arms"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbkQ99OxQJU&feature=related

"Under the Cover of night"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSqm5Id6Hw0&feature=related

"Halo"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6JK3fhYE1w&feature=related

It was an amazing game. You can't deny it.

UNREAL IS WAY MORE INNOVATIVE THAN HALO!!!! Sorry for the caps but You are saying UT2004 is generic? Have you played it? The weapons, unlike halo, are creative. I enjoy Halo, but It is not as Innovative as Unreal. Also Timesplitters 2 is a better Console FPS.

I know I shouldn't be too concerned about the way the console looks, but I honestly despise the look of the Slim so much that I am actually almost tempted in to buying a used Fat PS3 and just upgrading the hdd. I don't even care about backwards compatibility either. I know all the skus play the same games and have (mostly) the same features and whatnot, but wow... I dunno. I'm getting a PS3 next payday (2 weeks). What do you guys think? I know I am being incredibly petty and dumb and such. Do you guys care about your consoles' looks?

ender2009
I think it looks ok- except the cheap case seems to be made of "plastic" or something that they had a surplus of and used it to save money. You can always get a skin for it though.

So probably you need a new case.

Is it the build quality or the size or something that limits things?
