I made a mistke in my post I meant that Halo just dosent work as well as it does on the console. NOT THE PC. On the PC its terribly slow and the controls are terrible. Halo for Console only.

The single player experience of the Half Life series is better IMO.

But IMO the multiplayer experience of the Halo series is better than Half Life and all its mods and permutations (CS, DOD, TF2 etc.)

I play a lot of CS and DOD... honestly I haven't played TF2 yet... but I've played way more Halo than any CS or DOD.

I guess it comes down to personal taste.

Or it comes down to if you play on console or pc more. Since this is in the pc gaming thread half life must win hands down. Halo just dosent work as well as it does on the console.

Halo for Console

Half Life for PC

They just feel and play better from which they came.

You might not be able to run the games on the orange box. Anyway since your just getting into PC Fps games you should start with the classics:

HalfLife Anthology

Quake 3

Unreal Tournament

Call of Duty (if you can run it)

There are a lot of people still playing those games. Then when you get the jist of those you can upgrade your PC and play some of the new games.

Cause you don't want to miss Fear, Call of Duty 2, Doom 3, Painkiller, half life 2 and Orange box, etc...

Get the Orange Box to start off with. It has something for everyone. And it is a good start for you if you want to get into pc shooters, and then you can buy CS Source later.
