I've been a PS3 gamer for over a year now and I really enjoy the console and have no plans to stop using it. In Summer of 07 I made the terrible mistake of buying a Wii. I'm deciding to just trade it in now towards a 360. I want a 360 so I can play with my friends since most of them have 360. I'm on a tight budget so I need to know the best option.

I was thinking about a refurbished pro system with a 20GB hard drive with 2 controllers from GameStop for 199. I dont know what kind of warranty you get because I'm scared about getting the RROD.

I just want some advice from someone experienced to help out a newb like me.

Is 20gb enough? Is it worth the extra $100 for the elite?

1 you definately want an elite. make sure it has the jasper chip set.

2 if you have to get a refurbished one make sure you get a good warranty. ideally you should get a new one.

3 the larger HDD is worth the money as you can install your games to it (6-8GB each). its aways best to install as this increases your xbox's life.

of all the advice i have given, the most important thing is to ensure you get an xbox with ths jasper chip set. this new chip set has almost eradicated RROD.

you start with you current level 24 no upgrades and with the same weapons but you cant use the weapons in the first and second mission , you can use the weapons when you get the ship and with zero paragon renegade , i start with 50000 of minerals but some players say they dont have a minerals bonus

pretty sure you need the official xbox adapter.

a new version has just been released so you may find the older version at a lower price now.

First off, I played GoW2 and really liked it. It was a first buy for me when I got my 360 back in august. Will I enjoy the first one as well?

On that note, I'm starting to get REALLY bored with MW2 multiplayer, so I thought I would dive into GoW2 mp. Is the community still active? And is horde mode as good as I hear?

Also, I'm fairly familiar with shooters and can say I usually can pick them up with ease. What is the learning curve like for jumping into GoW2 mp for a person who went thru the campaign already?

Thanks always in advance.

yes the community is still very active.

horde mode is great, as long as you have friends to play with.

playing through the campaign wont help much in M, its a totally different game.

the learning curve, for you, will be steap. mainly because its been out for so long. give it a week or so and you should start to get comfortable.
