Hi,

I wanted to get one of these monitors for my computer & 360, before i found out about the panel lottery.

The 226CW is like £30 more for a feature called "Wide Colour Gamut"

But i also heard the 226CW guarantees you an S panel, can anyone confirm this?

If this isnt true is it worth the risk of getting a C panel by buying the 226BW?

Thanks for any feedback!

Hello

I know there must be a load of topics on this, but i have a couple of questions i need answering.

I was considering buying the Samsung 226BW until i heard about the lottery. Apparently the C panel is most common nowadays.

I also noticed another monitor; the Samsung 226CW. I've heard this monitor is the same except for the addition of "Wide Colour Gamut"

But i also heard a rumor that this version of the monitor guarantees you an S panel; can anyone confirm this?

If the rumor isnt true and the C panel is the most common, is there a viable alternative 22" for ~ £250?

Any feedback would be absolutely brilliant!

Thats reassuring, thanks.

Does anyone have any info on the 226CW? I can get it for just £30 ($60) more and if its guaranteed an S panel, that would be great.

Does anyone own a 226CW?

Thanks for any feedback.

Hi, i recieved a 226BW as a present for my PC and a 360i'm going to get.

Is it a good screen for an Xbox 360?

Are the aspect ratios any good?

I reallyhate the stretched images you can sometimes get; i would prefer black bars if thats possible.

Any feedback would be brilliant!

Thanks!

Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-D

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+

1GB Ballistix 184-pin DIMM DDR PC4000

SLI 7800 GT

I know this hasn't got amazing 8800 GT's or anything, but how does it rate?

With a couple of upgrades (1GB of RAM and an AMD Athlon X2 4200+) will it be able to run games like Half Life 2 Orange Box, Bioshock and Company of Heroes on high settings at 1680x1050?

I dont have enough cash for anything other than the upgrades i mentioned, so i cant get much else.

Any feedback would be absolutely great!

Hi,

This is my stuff:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+

2x XFX 7800GT

1GB Crucial DDR-SDRAM PC-4000 (250 MHz)

I'm guessing they arent too good this day and age, but how would it fare against the latest games with these upgrades:

Another GB of RAM

& a better processor

Obviously this isnt gonna be a Crysis machine, but i plan on running games like Bioshock, COD4 and HL: Orange Box. I also plan on getting a 22" Samsung (226BW) to go with it.

How well will it do at 1600x1200? (with upgrades)

Any advice, suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. :)

For Christmas, i had asked or a new monitor. I spent ages researching and finally found the one i liked:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SM226BW-Widescreen-LCD-Monitor/dp/B000MRVBF4/ref=pd_sbs_ce_title_1

But today my mum came home from work with a surprise; a monitor. I was anxious, i wondered if it was going to be good or not. It turns out she had done a bit of research herself. This is the monitor:

http://www.ciao.co.uk/BenQ_G2400W__6766587#productdetail

Now i'm asking; does 1000:1 contrast ratio compare to 3000:1 and does 250 cd/m2 compare to 500 cd/m2?

& overall, which is the better monitor? (i plan on playing games on my PC and mabye an xbox 360 if i'm lucky)

Any answers would be great!
