@dagamer667 Game is unique in sum of some its aspects and has great value, thus it is given such score (more than that, there are a lot of things which are done brilliantly there). Yes, technically it's not polished, but that is just one flaw on the way. So yes, things which build this game are WORTH the score. Score doesn't show a "typical gamespot reader" that he will surely enjoy. Some games are made for idea, concept (some of indie games) or even for the sake of visual narrative. And they get their high scores, though not everyone (by far) would love them (famous Limbo game is hugely overrated on that case imo).
BTW i play with Keyboard and Mouse, and i do not have any trouble during fights.
@markosasav @KeviNOlighT So how could You estimate plot if U don't know shit about it? PLot of DS is as challenging as its gameplay, but it's rewarding.
Story is just told U by other methods, that's all.
I Find Hawkeye Gough, Artorias, Giant Blacksmith, Patches, Lautrec, Primordial Serpents and other memorable.
With no doubt, there are games where characters lead hell of a story and action, like ME (in my opinion, some of the characters there were very nice and memorable). But I could hardly say 'Lots of games" have cool characters.
@markosasav @KeviNOlighT You don't save world in any of DS endings. And just like VGjunkie87 said, you can simplify each story, it's not about what you do in the end, it's how you ended up doing things you do, motives, reasons.
I doubt you know much about plot.
It's actually Skyrim though having lotta dialogues, is not special at all.
@KeviNOlighT Clearly see your point. I myself liked Morrowind with tons of shiny mods years ago. The problem is that you modify the game by content, which was not meant to be there in the first place.
Some Game concepts require modders' activity and such game becomes cool (and may be praised for additional content) if ways to create something are versatile, easy to deal with, have good potential (i think, LittleBigPlanet is one of such games). But again, modding is personal thing, it's very abstract, becuase everyone gets a game without mods and everyone decides on his own what to do with his game, changing its content, so i can imagine that modded Skyrim may be good potentially, but hey, that's can't be part of review, sadly, that is the reason i compare vanilla Skyrim to vanilla DS.
