The PS2, GC, and Xbox controllers = garbage!

The Gamecube controller is a piece of ****! Whoever designed it definitely suffers from a sever case of retardation (sorry Mr. Miyamoto! ).

The Xbox and Xbox360 controllers are also complete garbage. I have played with them both and they suck ass big time. First Person Shooters are a nightmare with those things (they should offer the option tu use k&m like Sony does). And don't even get me started with fighters. Those 2 controllers are only good for racers and platformers, nothing else.

And last but not least... the PS2 controller. Playing 2D fighters is impossible with that thing. The D-pad is nothing but ****! Also, why the **** does it have only 4 face buttons?? It should have 6 like the Sega Saturn controller! And now it looks like Sony will screw up again with the PS3 controller. Way to go Lord Kutaragi!

So to resolve this issue I did the most wise thing that a human being can ever hope to do... I purchased a 3rd party controller! Now that's what I call genious.

And here it is...

the Perfect Controller:

Look at that D-Pad, it's perfection!!! Look at the button placement, so ****ing beautiful!!! Reminds me of the Saturn controller. 8)

I had to import this from Hong Kong ( it's very hard to find right now). But let me clear one thing... Chun Li is not my favorite fighter, my favorite is Ryu! I got the Chun Li controller because it was the only one left for PS2 (the others are out of stock and out of print ofcourse). But I hear that in January they will release wireless versions of these Street Fighter Anniversary controllers. Now I only hope that they release something like this for the PS3.

Less GameSpot (if any at all)

Well...

I just want to say that I won't be visiting the site much (especially the forums).

Now moving on to other interesting stuff...

Here's Perfect Dark Zero (Xbox 360):

And here's Half Life 2: Lost Coast (on my PC):

Now try to convince me that the Xbox 1.5 is really next gen.

My PC specs:
-Pentium 4 HT @ 2.8GHz / 800MHz FSB / 1MB L2 cache
-1GB DDR SDRAM
-ATi Radeon 9600pro 256MB

The main difference between the 3 next gen consoles:

This is what is going on in the System Wars:

With the Xbox 360 we debate whether it looks like current gen or not. And we usually come to the conclusion that it's graphics do, indeed, look like the original Xbox when running in 480i and like a middle end PC when on 720p.

With the PS3 we debate whether it looks like CG or not. And as proven by games like MGS4, Heavenly Sword, and Getaway we come to the conclusion that the PS3 blows both, the XB360 and PCs, out of the water with it's amazing CG quality real time graphics.

With the Revolution well... we have to wait until they show anything. We don't know how the graphics will look and most importantly... we have yet to see the controller in action. Until we see it in action on a real game we can't say that the controller is good. It is not revolutionary until proven so.

I believe we can all agree on what I just said.

I played the Xbox 360 at my local EBgames store.

I went to my local EBgames store to buy Xenosaga (prequel to the best JRPG game ever made, Xenogears) and guess what?

Well, I entered the store and noticed a huge crowd of people playing something on a 23" Samsung LCD 720p HDTV. I got close and what do you know... it was the Xbox360!

They were playing Kameo which, graphically, looked no better than a good old Dreamcast game. My GameCube displays better graphics than that. Yuk!

Then a bunch of casuals started taking turns playing Call of Duty 2. They were raving about how great the graphics and AI were. I couldn't believe that they actually thought the game looked amazing. If they were amazed by that then I guess they willl wet their pants once they see what the PS3 is capable of. So I have no doubt in my mind... PC is for the hardcore. Casuals don't know that PC gaming exist and therefore can't judge the XB360 graphics properly.

When I got my turn to play the Xbox360 the first thing I noticed were the controls. The XB360 controller is not as great as people said it was. The COD2 demo on the 360 is exactly the same one that I played on the PC, so I did a comparison. I'll explain that now.

I beat the COD2 PC demo on the hardest difficulty setting without dying once. But when I played the 360 version (in easy mode I guess) it was very hard. The problem was the controller. The graphics looked exactly (and I mean exactly) the same as in my PC. But aiming well was night imposible. I expected more after hearing so many people say that the Xbox controller is great for fps games. But the truth is that it isn't. Anybody that says otherwise clearly has never played with K&M, which is a must for first person shooters.

So in conclusion Call of Duty 2 is orders of magnitude better on my PC than on the Xbox 360 for two reasons. 1) It has the same exact graphics, and 2) Keyboard and Mouse are way way way way way way waaaaayy better for FPS games than console controllers.

I'm so glad that I cancelled my Xbox360 preorder after X05 flopped. The 360 is clearly not for me, or for any other PC gamer for that matter. Now I have no doubt in my mind that Ken Kutaragi was 100% right. The Xbox 360 is really an Xbox 1.5

I purchased a PS2!!

I had a Playstation 2 since the day it launched (oct. 26, 2000) until late 2003 when it died on me  . I've been playing PC and GameCube (that piece of ****) since then.

But this week I decided to take the dust out of my copy of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GC) to play it again and... it was so ****ing awesome!!!

After playing the game for like 12 hours straight I knew I had to re-play MGS2 all over again too. But the problem was that I didn't have a PS2. So I decided to go to my local EBgames and pick up a new slim PStwo (model SCPH-75001) for $150 even though I know it will go down in price in November 22nd.

I also picked up the only copy the store had left of MGS2. It cost me only $7 (it was an used copy). And boy oh boy MGS2 has aged amazingly well. The game still looks incredibly amazing graphically. And that is coming from a PC gamer. It was such a blast replaying that supreme greatness of a game. I played it for ~15 hours straight  .

Now i'm going to get MGS3 as soon as Subsistance is out. But if the game is delayed until 2006 then i'll get the Snake Eater version.

Playstation 2 is definitely the best console this generation.

Orders of Magnitude

"Orders of Magnitude" has become my favorite phrase.

So please, if you see me posting that everywhere take it with a grain of salt.

It will most likely be an exageration.
