If you like WW2 shooters its top of the line. Shooting is good, and enemys will kill you, not like the normal reload in front of an enemy he hits you 2 times kinda deal, he takes you out and unloads on you. You need the support your squad, solo fighting wont work. And the levels are not run of the mill they are differnt and very very well done.
Game is short is the only bad thing for single player. And multi player isnt fully up. Its only player ran server right now 12 man tops, and the In-game browser sucks. Patch si due out to get Dedicated 32 man servers up. BUt the Multi player was very very fun.
The people who said this game sucks dont know a good FPS period.
The single player is classic. And You'll play in some ruins of a dig. the lighting effects and sound are great Very nicly done and no complaint in performance from me. But for the more important the multiplayer. Right now its limited to 12 player servers. But in a few weeks they will have a patch out to make the servers bigger. I played a few online games so far, very fun and if your American you chute in and can basicly stay and snipe on any roof you want to, or hit the ground running.
The Germans generally found good open roofed houses and would shoot at you as you came in and landed. The guns are the normal WW2 stuff, but with upgrades like scope and grenade launcher. The hit detection is nice, and the gun damage is low. It had a CoD1 feel, not a run n gun CoD2 feel. It takes skill to get a kill or 2, unless you get the drop on an enemy.
The bad is, server fill up fast and it takes awhile to connect. The in game browser is horrid at best. No ping # given which is completely retarded IMO. Although I have yet to try a gamespy or 3rd party game connect program. All in all the game is good. And worth the buy if your tired of your Multiplayer games. But if your into the single player more, its just a good game nothing ground breaking.
The Gamespot newsletter says Sept. 7, not 10.mikebrough1984
Enemy Territory.com says the 10th, although the 7th would been sweet :)
The demo was very cool. I liked the weapon upgrades as you learned to use the gun, and the differnt soldiers (enemy soldiers) had ratings. Its a differnt spin on things. But at the same time it had that Band of Brothers feeling to it, with the classical musical score.
Someone said they didn't like that you cant move while aiming. Was weird to me at first too. But once I figured it out, it wasn't bad, Kind of innovative way to do it. And i can imagine how much fun the multiplayer will be with rifles and people poping up and leaning out with so much ease. I just hope the multi player deleivers and isn't a COD2 and is more like a COD1. Either way Im glad the big companys are putting up some much improved classics.
