PC games usually have the best graphics, the best control schemes, and can be modded to prolong the life of a game. However, I stopped playing PC games once I found out how unreliable they can be. Random freezing, a chugging framerate, or a game that's too advanced for your computer can ruin the gaming experience. I have a $2600 macbook pro that can't run Crysis on maximum graphics, in contrast if I don't run Doom 3 on maximum graphics it freezes up! With consoles like the 360 or PS3 at least we know the game should work. We know what framerate and graphics to expect. Plus, consoles are far cheaper than PC's (PC's also need to be upgraded every year or two). In comes Grand Theft Auto IV that was recently released for the PC. Error messages have been popping up about the game. I wonder how much updating people will have to do just to play the game? Who cares if the PC version is better when you can't play it?

"The highly anticipated release of the PC port of Grand Theft Auto IV has been met with frustration by many gamers who have bought the title starting today. Gamers, especially those who have downloaded the open world action game via Valve's Steam service, have reported a number of bugs and crashes.
Big Download, in trying to review the game for the site, has come across one of the errors mentioned in a Steam forum post (thanks Shacknews): MMA10, which crashes the game to desktop after seeing the title's copyright screen. The temporary solution is not to sign onto the game's Rockstar Social Club online service. The catch is that while you can play the game in single player it deprives you of its multiplayer features.
Other errors we have seen include missing textures which seem to be solved if you don't have the game at super high (1900x1600) resolutions. Another game-loading error, RMN40, seems to be solved in Windows XP if you update the OS to the recent Service Pack 3 upgrade. Big Download has contacted Rockstar Games' PR folks to get a status report on the publisher's plans to resolve these many issues."

" have a $2600 macbook pro that can't run Crysis" - I stopped reading right after this.My rig costs roughly 1500-1800 dollars and it BLASTS everything in pure 1080P far better than any PS3 or 360 out there.
You come have a look at Gears of War when I'm running it at 180(!) FPS then compare it to what you see on the 360 and then complain.
