Because it's the marketing...so I guess we should respect the marketing department and the execs that used the band to achieve the success.

I'm not the one that respects popularity dude....reread.:|

LJS9502_basic

Yeah, any popularity they can manage to get is rightfully theirs. If the people let themselves be manipulated that easily, than let them be, it's their own fault, and protecting them is a waste of time. Protect them from marketing execs, they'll still blindly follow other things, because ,and this is the horrible truth, 98% of all the people in the world are IDIOTS.

I know you don't respect the popularity, you reread, i'm convincing you otherwise. The people are a tool few know how to weild, and even fewer get in a position to weild. Respect to those who weild it well (By 'well', I don't mean morally just or whatever other fairy-tale bollocks people love to spin on it. I mean 'most effective').

Positive spin on mainstream. However, some music is created simply to make money. I can't respect that no matter how popular a band becomes. Though as I stated above...occasionally a good band has a hit. As long as they don't chase the money...that's cool.

LJS9502_basic

Why not respect it? The world is bigger than your brain, and if the people are fooled into making crap-music popular, than well all power to the bands. Those bands have to live with the fact that their audience is mostly compromised of sheep.

It is not the amount of popularity that you should look for, it's the quality of the people that give that popularity. The stupid, and the few who openly admit they love shallow music. :)

seems to me like you only care about women for sex....but im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say im wrong

Fiji-Water

In all honesty, I don't care. But you seem to have missed the part about me being involved in a romantic relationship. I also have female friends who are just that, and some of them started as a sexual relationship. Is this so wrong?

But nevermind, you seem like the typical 'nice guy', so I'll leave you to figure it out yourself or make all sorts of excuses why you aren't spending tonight with a great woman in bed.

Real life: I'm the one rejecting.

In clubs: A couple dozens I guess...

«Personnality goes a long way»... And I guess personnality doesnt amount to much in the clubs I went to!

Krigen89

For -men- personality goes a long way. How often do you see an attractive girl with an unattractive man? How about vice versa?

Because God is a safety net for both believers and non-believers.

Prove me wrong.

joezer3003

Well, both believers and non-believers that prayed in life-threatening situations still died... so there goes your safety net.

Hoping for divine intervention out of fear is very common. In life-threatning situations, people have but one thought: Staying alive. And if they are powerless to change the situations themselves, they will hope for divine intervention. If they're religious, they might even sooner hope for divine intervention, rather than try all possible course of action. I can imagine situations where turning to god for prayers will result in death.

When people come out these situations alive, they realise it wasn't god who saved them. They either weren't going to die in the first place, or their own actions or actions of others saved them. Or in the case of believers, well they'll thank god and all that because they can't recognize their own worth, other human's worth etc.

Or...you end up waiting till you find somebody who likes you back the same amount you like them, which ends up making a better more meaningful relationship rather than just asking out random girls you think are "hot", go out with them few times and forget about them forever...

Fiji-Water

No, you don't have to wait for that. In fact, I found a woman I wanted to be in a relationship with recently, and am in this relationship now. I treated her like the girls I only wish to have intercourse with. I just felt she was good for more than just a sexual relationship. When I was single, I was looking for a girl like her but I also enjoy sex. So why would I deny myself sex with women I find attractive? Finally, just because a girl likes you before any dates, doesn't mean she likes you more than a girl that has fallen in love with you during the dating process.

The perceived age of the average poster. Note: Perceived, meaning, I make out age based on what is posted, how its posted, vocabulary used for the post, how much they appear to have learned about the world, and how much they rather used the same time to only watch tv/play videogames/consume etc. I find most here to be rather pubescent. Whether that coincides with the average OT-poster's real age I won't bother to figure out (lest I find out most of you are 25+ and still behaving like this, oh the horror :| )
