Then they shouldn't have SAID that they were going to give away a free Dr Pepper to everyone in the country. This is NOT about the Dr Pepper, it's about HONESTY. When Coca-Cola does their "look under the cap" promotions, they specifically state that I have a one in 12 chance of getting a free Coke. They do NOT say "free Coke for everyone!" That IS what Dr Pepper did, they didn't live up to that, and so they lost me as a customer.

You should be old enough to know that there is stipulations to any free offer. How else can they control how many people get free Dr. Pepper over and over again?

One way would be to only offer it for a specific window of time, like say between 3-5 PM on a certain day. Much the way Taco Bell did during the World Series when everyone in America got a free taco between 3-6pm on some set day. You probably would have missed out on that too, and then blamed Dr. Pepper for not giving you a free soda, when it was YOU who didn't pay attention to the rules of the giveaway. If you missed out, then you missed out. It's on you, not the company.

They DID give away free Dr. Pepper, to anyone who followed the giveaway guideline process. You're acting like they just flat-out lied. They did not. They gave away probably thousands of dollars worth of product, and that's generous. And after showing such generosity, as well as HONESTY by staying true to their word (ironically, which is what you claim this to be about), you somehow mustered up the audacity to complain about such an insignificant event, claim that wrong had been done to you, and call them liars, to boot.

The problem is with you. That's apparent. Very apparent. Especially after seeing your thread about wanting to get a guy fired because he told you smoking was bad for you. Big deal! It IS bad for you! You might know this already, and maybe it's annyoing to be told for the millionth time, but it's not worth someone losing their paycheck over, especially since the guy is probably living paycheck-to-paycheck anyway! Have some understanding!

All I can say is I hope people like you never become president. You'll be destroying any group of people you don't like over the most petty BS. I know many times in the past, at various restaurants, I've actually BEEN GIVEN 15-20 napkins, stuffed in the bag with my order when I get it to go. I get home pull them all out and I'm like, why did they give me so many damn napkins?

By the way, they didn't lie to you. They gave you every opportunity to get a free Dr. Pepper, you just failed to follow the instructions. They can't just give them away for free to anybody in an unchecked system, because then they'd lose lots of product on repeated claims by the same people going to different stores. You know people aren't just going to ask for one, and honestly never ask again. They had to implement a trackable voucher system, to keep tabs on how much product was going to be given away. If you didn't get a coupon, when you had easy access to getting it, then YOU missed out, and you should be mad at yourself, if you'd even be mad at all, over such a insignificant occurence in your life.

"We" are still intolerant of other's race, gender, sexual orientation, and religious beliefs. Why is that? Is humanity destined to never reach enlightenedment? I for one have no problem with the differences between people...but after spending the morning reading some of these threads I have come to the conclusion that there is no hope that humans will do the right thing.

I live in America, and have been outside of it a few times. Not to all the countries I named, but some of them, and have talked to people from many of those countries too. I study Europe a lot because I think I want to move somewhere over there, where I can feel a little more... "free", ironically. America is not a free country.
