My REALLY OFFICIAL TOP 10 AWARDS FOR GOTY 2011 (I know this is like my 3rd time doing this)
10. Infamous 2
"Extremely underappreciated" (Me)

Infamous was a great game. Infamous 2 was actually even better. Remember how dark the graphics in Infamous were? Infamous 2 fixed that, and it was one of the awesomest-looking games of 2011. Infamous 2 also adds tons of set pieces to the series. I will copy my Gears 3 quote and say there is never a dull moment. Best of all, you feel like a total badass.
9. Saints Row: The Third
"Wackiest game ever is also one of the best in it's genre" (Me)

I like Saints Row The Third almost as much as San Andreas, which is my favorite open-world crime game. Its humor is absurd in a good way, and the game has improved so much from SR2. The campaign has improved the most. Thanks to the absurd humor, you go do all types of activities, including *SPOILERS* going to cyberspace, rescuing prostitutes trapped in a huge ship, waking up naked in some building, bringing a sex toy to a wrestling matche, etc. The only con about Saints Row, honestly is there is not enough activities. For Saints Row 4, which has already been announced, we want more activities.
8. Call of Duty: Black Ops Map packs
"This game just never gets old" (Me)

This isn't really a game, but it was one of my favorite things to play in 2011. Last year, my GOTY was Call of Duty: Black Ops (Don't hate me because I play CoD). It was amazing because of how much it improved upon Call of Duty. It added wager matches, combat training, and theater mode to multiplayer, but what I was most addicted to was zombies mode. The map packs improve upon zombie mode, making new Wonder Weapons and gadgets, new insanely-hard-to-achieve achievements for doing easter eggs, and more. It was also an amazing idea to bring back all 4 World at War zombie maps. While First Strike, Escalation and Annihilation are a tad bit overpriced, you can't argue with the $15 price tag on Rezzurection.
7. Bulletstorm
"The FPS genre gets a billion shots in the arm" (Gameinformer magazine)

Like Saint's Row, this game is also humorous in a crude way. The thing I love about this game is that the game rewards you for being clever, and it also makes you seem like a badass. It added new weapons and gadgets to the FPS franchise, such as a leash and a mighty kick. Also, the humor is hit-or-miss, but if it's a miss it can be muted. I thought it was funny, there were some hilarious one-liners.
6. Portal 2
"A mind-bending marvel" (IGN)

Portal 2 is a great break from shooter games with over-the-top gore and frequent F-words. Instead, mini-guns and chainsaws are replaced with portal guns used to navigate through extremely cleverly designed levels using physics, and swearing is replaced with unique, hilarious dialouge. The cake is a lie!
5. Batman: Arkham City
"Makes you feel like you're... well, Batman." (Me)

I loved Arkham Asylum because it made you feel like ... well, Batman (aka a total badass). However, the only thing I disliked about that game was the low replay value - sure, there were a few challenge maps, and you could free roam the asylum, but the challenge maps were boring and the free roam had no side-quests or anything. Arkham City does exactly what the first game lacked. It also made the story mode even longer, improved and invented new awesome gadgets and improved the graphics, creating a beautiful environment to free-roam for countless hours in.
4. Minecraft
"More of a toy then a game, but that's okay." (Game informer magazine)

I as mearly as possible, tried to avoid MineCraft when all my friends were talking about it. I just started playing it when it finally came out in November, and I'm already addicted. The great things about this game are the limitless possiblities, the suspense and scare of the monsters, and the awesome online play. Cant wait for the Xbox version!
3. Gears of War 3
"Never a dull moment" (Me, though I'm sure it has been used by other reviewers)

The thing I love about this game is that there is never a dull moment in the campaign, multiplayer or co-op. Specifically, in Act 3 of the campaign. I fought a giant... insect thingy, then got in a truck and rode through a jungle-like scene full of enemies, then was the gunner of another truck, *SPOILERS* then followed a crazy man into a tunnel full of zombies, and lastly experienced a sad and dramatic death of brother Dom. The action is nonstop and you feel like a total badass.
2. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
"I used to dislike RPG's but then Skyrim came along and I took a huge arrow to my knee" (Me - and yes, I did have to throw in the arrow to the knee reference)

Before Skyrim I didn't like RPG's that much. I tried Fallout 3 but it was slow and I didn't like how complicated it was. I had never played Oblivion until a few months before Skyrim was coming out. Finally, I played it at a friend's house and liked it. I then decided to purchase Skyrim for Christmas. It is great. I have spent so much time with it... Simply put, I'm addicted
1. LittleBig Planet 2
"When the back of the box says 'Fun Shall Overcome'... Trust Me -They're not lying." (Me)

I am a creative person, but I actually didn't like LBP 1 when it first came out. I thought you had to be the most skilled platformer to complete the story mode and the level creator had too steep a learning curve. Once I got the basics, I became a skilled builder. LBP2 builds on every good thing about LBP 1. Not only is the story mode better, but there is so much more in the level builder - way more complex vehicles, main menus for your levels, people have actually made full games, so really you get so much more than your money is worth by buying LBP2, which is the main reason it is my Game of The year of 2011.
Guys, please don't nag at me because I dont have a game on here (Uncharted, Zelda, etc). Remember everyone is entitled to an opinion
