While it is graphically more impressive than Gears of War 2, the game has yet to be released, so Gears of War 2 currently holds that title. If we played by that rule, I can easily say, "game X coming out in 20XX" is graphics king.

Yes it is and very addicting once you get into it. It's problem is that it failed to be all that memorable. Seriously most ppl who hate on later FF games are either FF VII or VI fanboys or one of those who seem to think only the ''classics'' were good, not sure which group is worse.
I beat 1,2,4,6,7,8,9,10. I mostly liked all of them and no I am not a fanboy towards any of them. I played 12 and it was crap. Just plain crap. I also have friends who beat most of the previous FFs and never got to finish 12 cause it was just plain aweful.Â
Meh. I seriously think gears of war is overated. Didn't like it at all. So for someone to say it compares to an amazing franchise like Half-Life is hard for me to take.
So I went as Master Chief for Halloween and I went to a huge party and plenty of people recognized me. I was getting high fives all around because everyone knew I was the Master Chief.
That got me thinking. Do you guys think that Master Chief is the face of FPS's and is the most widely recognized? I'm positive that more people recognize him than Gordon Freeman or Samus Aran or Nathan Hail. I think Master Chief is to FPS's as Mario is to platformers.

Well you never see Gordon Freeman in the game really. So most people don't have a freakin clue what he looks like. Go as Samus with the suit and I'm pretty sure people will know who you are. Not to mention Halo has been advertized so freakin much that it's hard not to know who he is.
