@OneStrong2 @4nationfury Because the general consensus has been positive. The reviews from critiques and gamers are almost universally positive. There's no denying this.
@OneStrong2 @4nationfury I fail to see how your opinion deferring with mine means I am in anyway, in a state of denial. How presumptuous.
Also, just because they didn't succeed only makes the game a failure in a financial sense. It doesn't mean gamers didn't love it (the majority who played did I'm afraid) or that it was in anyway a bad game. Success is not the staple of a good game.
@OneStrong2 @4nationfury I'm not denying anything. This was a major reboot to an aging franchise so of course things were changed. It's an overused example but it's like the Dark Knight trilogy. It's fine to have the opinion that they've gone in a direction you didn't like. But also consider that sometimes to make something successful and feel fresh drastic changes need to be made.
Another thing. Does anyone else think this analyst is full of crap? He says games must have bigger budgets, bigger multiplayer, and bigger scores. Bigger budgets won't help what didn't garner the funds they wanted. Bigger multiplayer isn't for a game where people have no interest in multiplayer. And bigger scores? Tomb Raider has a fantastic 87 in metacritic. Plenty of critiques scored it an 8.5 or higher. To show his broken logic, consider that Assassin's Creed III sold very well and got an 8.5 on this site and an 85 average. Something doesn't add up. Seriously, I half wonder if this analyst's bizarre advice isn't just posted on here to stir controversy and get some buzz.
No. Just no. Not to say they weren't interested in it, but nobody wanted a multiplayer mode anyway. That analyst should have looked into Tomb Raider's feedback rather than comparing with the COD market. Seriously.
@SIDEFX1 @4nationfury I'm not twisting it. You asked if gamers enjoy playing females and when one did, you accused them of being a cross dresser. That was your logic used. I asked if this was the case and you have yet to deny it or answer my other questions.
So what is your beef with female protagonists in games anyway?
@SIDEFX1 What does that mean? Playing a female character means you want to dress like or be a woman? You need to get out more. I suppose you think women who play male characters want to be men or that people who play other races like orcs want to be orcs?
@DarthLod You think sales came up short because of the existence of multiplayer and a lack of DLC? If that's the deal beaker, I worry for the future of gaming. Then again, I highly doubt something like that was majorly responsible.
@LukeWesty I saw plenty of gameplay, just from different angles and without hub clutter. For instance, the killing animations aren't cutscenes and neither was the ship battle shown from Edward's view.
