Sundberg added that Avalanche Studios has been working with the Xbox One for some time, and that the studio's "impressions from first sight until the recent public reveal have been positive."

"Once [Microsoft has] cleared any remaining question marks around touchy subjects like always-on and second-hand sales, they are able to focus on the games and the real console war can finally kick off," concluded Sundberg.

Let me translate that:

"Um ok, we really thought people would forget about all that DRM (that we LOVE btw) and just get hyped by the fish swimming out the way and the dog, because everyone loves dogs, right?

"Ok, well, gamers are obviously not as stupid as I thought, they don't want to be spied on and have DRM rammed up their backsides, so now we just don't know what to do".

ok let's deal with this right now;

"You are in control of what you want to be collected," Spencer said.

Bullshit. What Microsft are doing here is not going after 'input 1' in the one, they are going after the holy grail of advertising - 'information gathering 1'.

They want to monitor everything you say and do and your reactions to everything and sell it to whoever has money to pay for that information. They are trying to outflank Google here.

All the pieces of the puzzle will be in place at release day: Required Kinect device, required Internet connection every 24 hours, 3 hundred thousand servers to process information.

It will only take a change to Xbox Live terms that you have to click to agree to, or no online gaming, for them to have live feed from your house as long as this thing is in a plug socket. It doesnt even need to be on to do this.

Wake up people. A COD dog and fish swimming out the way is no prize for giving away your privacy

this kind of reminds me of that scene from 300.

We have Major Nelson and the Microsoft execs stating we cannot resist the xbox one and the Kinect spy cam from the most powerful computer company on earth.

I am just going to kick you down the well and shout "This..is..SPARTA"

If anyone from Microsoft is saving this thread let's make the point very clear.

If you knocked on my door and said, 'OK we know this isn't popular, so you can have the Xbox ONE for free, providing you agree to kinect always being on, constant internet connection and control of second hand games'. My answer would be take it away, it is NOT coming into my home.

@FAIL_TR0LL @BurningJC007 I will start with number 8..

Lets see here...8) Having a console that turns your TV on automatically and boots up in 1 second when you say, "Xbox On" is bad. We don't know why, but we'll think of a reason why this is somehow the downfall of humanity.

Ok, microsoft were successfully prosecuted for using their corporate scale to crush other web browser systems, investigated for embedding personal details of office owners into all documents sent digitally, have set aside 300 hundred thousand servers for a console system that self hosts gameplay, (why?) requires a kinect device that records all voice conversation at all times power is in the system, requires access to its servers each 24 hours to feed back data.

Now I ask, just on point 8, are you truly that naive?

'Microsoft has again reached out to users to warn them that all sign-up pages claiming to offer Xbox One testing are illegitimate and should be avoided.'

Which begs the question who on earth would be stupid enough to *want* to sign up to this spy on your household DRM brick?

Hell that is nothing compared to the visual DRM they have a patent for. Watch Netflix on this new xpox and you are going to find it locking the movie up if kinect detects more than you watching it. Pay for the extra person and it will play. They really honestly have got the patent for this. There will be kids hiding behind the couch trying to watch a movie hoping that big brother kinect can't detect their heartbeat through the cushions.

Three million for XO? Only a fanboy would accept that number. I'm a natural pessimist, and I cannot imagine any situation short of the end of civilization that would make Microsoft perform that well with the idiocy they have.

There, fixed it for you
