I certainly don't mind that a game takes a long time to finish. I expect that. I'm just afraid Mr. Roberts will never have a real "launch", just continuous improvements of existing functionality and piece-meal releases of new content. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I like a game to be fully fleshed out and functional at a specific moment in time. It's hard to get absorbed into a world when most of it is locked behind a "Coming Soon!" dialogue box.
Similarly, I'm afraid that by the time the game is launched (if there's such a thing), that the early adopters will dominate and those that waited for a proper release will be way behind the curve.
