The facts are DVD's still outsell digital movies by a factor of several multiples.
I don't think anyone is going to argue that eventually digital is going to finally take over, but to say that "you haven't watched a DVD in 2 years" just tells me you don't know anything about films or movies.
I can say the same thing about music. I have bought maybe 5 CD's at most in the last 10 years. Why? Because I literally know nothing at all nor have any interest anymore in new music... of course that applies to both digital and physical format. I just don't pay attention to or buy music at all period, I'm cool with all the CD's I bought in the 90's. I still listen to them. With films I do pay attention and have an interest, and thus I buy blu-ray. I can't imagine anyone that actually has an interest being satisfied with "solely" digital formats. It's just not acceptable... (yet).

man what u r saying makes no sense. movies r experienced in theatres and if not, u stream or digitally download them. i've seen well over 100 movies over the last 2-3 yrs so that completely blows ur theory out of here. i've probably spent more over the last 2 yrs on movies then games. then when u account for the fact the amazon now has a streaming site along with maybe 15-20 other mediums where u can stream and/or download movies that u either rent and/or buy, there is no way in hell people r buying more dvds.Amazon's streaming service is a joke. They have literally no content...
The reason the movie services haven't "taken over" yet is because it's segregated. Just like you said 15-20 services. Nobody is going to subscribe to ALL of them, likewise people arent going to want to segregate their digital purchases across 15-20 difference services. The best option is still physical format, and in fact blu-ray sales actually GREW last year.
However digital is growing faster, and blu-ray has never grown faster than the rate at which DVD is declining. Like I said I have no doubt that in 10 years, maybe as little as 5 years that digital will really start to take over in movies. But as of now you can't get a complete catalogue on any one format, and digital almost NEVER has the best source materials for classic films. Anyone that is buying old DVD-SD sourced content in digital format (at full price) is an absolute idiot, especially when newer restorations are constantly still coming out on blu-ray. Unfortunately the digital services do not keep up with the latest and best restorations of these films, if you watch something like Lawrence of Arabia or Taxi Driver on blu-ray it's eye popping the difference between that and what you get on streaming.
lmao u dnt have to man, u can get a streaming service like netflix for tv shows and b ranked new movies and still have itunes for free to rent or buy brand new movies. all digital. streaming services u pay a $7 monthly fee, movie services free to download, u just pay for the movie. extremely simple. no segregation. i just saved u money
