[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] this is a pointless post and you may as well wait a year and pay 10-20% instead of 30-50%

what? gamestop sales used games for $5 cheaper than the retail price. u wait 3-4 months and get the game at a wholesale price

i'm talking about from steam

and then most games would be close to outdated at that time, especially an online game

[QUOTE="PurpleMan5000"][QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] the point is they give you 50% of the worth of the game that you can then put toward another game if someone else feels like it's worth 95% of the cost for a used game vs 100% for a new one, that's their business

i respect what they do but at the same time, look at steam. u cant trade in games but at the same time, if u wait a few months to buy ur game u can save nearly $20-30 on the price.

A digital marketplace like Steam has a much greater ability to offer ridiculous sales than a brick and mortar store. There is just no way that Gamestop could ever sell new copies of games for 75%+ off. They wouldn't be able to cover shipping costs, let alone pay their employees and keep the lights on.

i completely understand that and that's why i try to avoid conversations about gamestop. i dnt agree with their policies but they are giving thousands of people jobs so i have no choice but to respect it.

[QUOTE="Shewgenja"][QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="Shewgenja"] How do you feel about the XBox One and its antigaming policies?

i have no problem with the x1 personally, i see what direction they are going in. i dnt believe ms shouldve put these harsh drm policies on the console tho, especially the 24 hr check in. that is borderline ridiculous. the used game policy doesnt bother me as much because the only people that benefit from that is gamestop and other companies who r basically screwing gamers and devs.

Well, I defer to "Boogie" aka 'Francis' when he said that the best thing that even XBox supporters can do is sit on the fence until it forces MS to change their policies. Also, I have a beach house that doesn't have internet (and yes, cell coverage sucks). So, I literally can't buy an XBox One to suit my needs as a gamer. I guess, being in a different position, I look at the policies differently.

i completely understand, i have no love for these policies at all. i believe there is a better way of stopping piracy and going digital but ms took the cheapest way out. i cant respect that at all and hopefully they find a way to rectify this in the end but at the same time, people will go where the games r and unless the x1 completely tanks, i dnt believe they will change a thing.

[QUOTE="AD216"]u dnt benefit unless a game is a few years old tho. i understand the theory that's out there but in reality, gamestop gives u 50% of what ur game is worth and charges the next person 95% of the full price. that's wrong on every levelJandurin

[QUOTE="AD216"]the pride comes from the leaps and bounds that gaming made from the atari days through the ps3/360/wii u days of today and knowing u were there for the ride. watching 2d platformers turn into 3d masterpieces like the last of us. the pride comes from knowing how small the gaming community started out and now looking how it expanded to a third of the world doing it. gaming went from a small secluded industry to number 1 worldwide. if u cant take pride in being a gamer, why tf do u pay dor the consoles or pc upgrades? its pointlessJandurin
i don't know about you but the only real difference between NES and today is that I can do more in my games and I can look shit up on the internet when I get stuck. why would i give a fvck about how the community or whatever grew i play games because they are fun they day they stop being fun is the day i stop playing

lmao then dnt consider urself a gamer. ur a casual that's only gaming because everyone else is doing it in some compacity

The consumers who get to play more games than they otherwise would be able to afford also benefit, fwiw.

[QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]so now you're proud that you can play a game? LOLJandurin
lmao spin it any way u want. whats the point of being a gamer if u cant be proud of the games? u get more idiotic with every letter u type

the point of being a gamer is to enjoy games however they fit if you like mp, do that if you like sp, do that if you like puzzle games, adventure games, point and click games, shooters, fps, tps, WHATEVER it's about entertainment and those moments when a game fully clicks and you get really into it, whether that's done as an individual or in a group setting it's not about being proud that you can pick up a controller and make something on a screen move on that note, achievements, leaderboards, this sort of thing - totally lame, separate argument though

[QUOTE="Shewgenja"][QUOTE="AD216"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] so then you're a hermit or dead

nope, neither. im a gamer. ppl that show blind loyalty to a specific company r ridiculously stupid to me. every console will have something i desire in some way. what that is right now remains to be seen. i've literally owned every console sony, ms and nintendo has ever mad with the exception of the wii u which i plan on buying in the holiday 14 season. in my opinion, it should always be about the games, not the company.
