Hey guys,

I'm a big soccer fan and I'm thinking about getting a service called ITVN. It's IPTV and it allows me to watch setanta sports (a channel I really want). The reciever has one ethernet port and a number of inputs. I was wondering if i got a tv tuner for my pc that had component input if I would be able to watch my ITVN on my computer monitor through my PC.

Because I am using the spare inputs on my monitor for other things, I think this would be the only viable solution. I do however have a spare compter monitor that I would prefer not to use. It has dvi and vga ports.

The link to the ITVN site and Reciever: http://www.itvn.com/support.html

If you guys could help me out, I would be grateful. If you have the patience, you could find a good tuner for this situation, but I should be fine...

I'm a bit skeptical about the validity of this article..however, I don't think this is completely out of the question. I remember on the N64 when they released the expansion pack alonside Donkey Kong. That was an add-on product that affected your hardware setup. That process went pretty well. It's a little different with the 360, but I still have yet to see a core xbox 360 being used by ANYBODY. I think that the market percentage of the people using a 360 w/o a hardrive is very low. This transition to all HDD based 360s will go smoothly. After all they could have an option where you chose to opt out of using the HDD and taking a performance or loading screen hit.

I've read about the price drop and the free movies you can get, but is it worth the 170 bucks? Is HD-DVD on the way out or could it still be in contention. Most signs I've seen point to the downfall of HD-DVD but idk...

Yeah, it's really interesting how much it was talked down. I see it now at the stores and it only costs something like 20 bucks, seems like a no-brainer being a editor's choice at one point...

Has anyone ever been able to do something similar to the PS3 and install their own hardrive into the Microsoft one?

We have to pay for probobally because it's a very very well designed online system that Microsoft feels is so superior to nintendo and sony's online system. 50 dollars is a little steep but I think at some point soon they will attempt to lower or make free the existing price plan. Ultimately Microsoft wants everyone who owns their console to be on their live service. They want people to power forward their microtransactions.

I was thinking about buying one too because I use connection sharing and have to turn on my computer before I can use live on my 360. I used to have connection drop problems when I used to use the xbox adapter, but if you guys say this is a good one, I guess there's no reason not to get it. The price is absolutely ridiculous...wonder if there are any third party ones...
