Well, here's the thing about that.  Ratchet & Clank definitely is a sequel, but in the EA Sports-Madden-type sense, where there's probably some new features thrown in, new levels that could probably be interchanged from past games, and the same players.  The fact that Sony decided to go the EA route and release what essentially are yearly updates to their franchises has flooded their market with a ton of SOCOMs, Jaks, Ratchet & Clanks, ATV Offroad Furies, etc. and other than a few new things, they haven't changed much, so forgive me if I'm a little underwhelmed at the prospect of ANOTHER Ratchet & Clank game.

A game like New Super Mario Bros., while following a similar formula to the first 4 Mario games, is the first true (side scroller) Mario game in 15 years.  If a new Mario game had been released every 1-2 years form then till now, I probably would've felt the same way about it as Ratchet.  DS titles like the two Castlevania games are sequels, but more in the Final Fantasy sense than the EA Sports type.  The core gameplay is intact from Symphony of the Night, but the characters are new, the stories are completely new, etc.  So that tends to be why I haven't and probably won't own a PSP and why my DS is logging a whole lot of gameplay time right now.svetzenlether

So if they had decided to release R&C: Size Matters and Daxter in 15 years time on the PSP Lite instead then you'd be happier? Fair enough I guess.

[QUOTE="supersaiyan039"]ratchet and clank and gurumin just came out what did ds come out with lunar knights lol.casinater
ratchet and who? gurumin what? oh...those playstation ports....just like all psp games...psp still doesn't have new super mario bros.....it will never be that good.

Are you being sarcastic or...? R&C: Size Matters is an entirely new game in the Ratchet and Clank franchise just as New Super Mario Bros was in the Mario franchise and Gurumin isn't a port either.

.....there's no accounting for taste :)....PSP=Same games I've played 5 times before....Omni-Slash
Certainly isn't, look how many people like to play with virtual dogs or do really simple maths problems over and over again.

WTF? Cows STILL think the PSP has a chance the outsell the DS in the US? :?

listen, I have a PSP and I have had fun with my PSP...but it's over...DS has won...all you can do is move on. :(

Im just pointing out that the PSP can be just as fun as the DS...and im getting a DS for pokemon for calling me a PSP fanboy has no avail

It CAN be just as fun. It just doesn't have any games that ARE as fun as the DS's games. At least, games that you can't already play better at home. Mind you, I was one of those who predicted a PSP cleansweep before launch, too. I'm having quite a lot of fun right now eating my own words.

Everyones taste in games are different. You saying PSP games aren't as fun as DS games is just your opinion. 20 million people are enjoying the PSP and a long list of highly rated games have been enjoyed by the critics. Some people's idea of fun is doing a string of overly simple math problems or playing with a digital dog but again it wont be for everyone. Just as playing PSP games isn't fo you clearly.

*sigh* Read my earlier posts.

No offense, but it doesn't seem like it's worth the time or the effort to be honest.

You can't go by gamespot scores though.  For sig bets and stuff like that yeah, but I would want to play Phoenix Wright 2 more than Burnout PSP, even though PW2 is a 7.7 game and burnout is a 9.0

The DS is a lot more like the PS2 and the PSP is like the gamecube.  Sure, the PSP gets some amazing games twice a year, but when you need to fill that time in with a bunch of great games that come out at least once every month, you play the DS.

Yeah, but that's just your opinion. Gamespots opinion is that Burnout is better, and there are over twice as many 8.0+ games (47 AA's compared to 20 AA's) on the PSP than the DS so there's hardly a shortage of games to consider buying for the PSP.

If you look at Game Rankings though, the comparasin is quite close.  Last time I checked, it was 27 to 25 on games rated 8.0 or higher.  Take out the PSP multiplat games (and the couple of DS ones) like say, the sports ones and a couple movie/marvel games, and the DS has more.

Also, scores are the technical opinion on the GS scale.  Burnout has Great grahpics, sound, replayability, ect. While PW has 2-D sprites, some good music in the backround but not good sound effects, and has no replayability.  PW is just more fun to play though.

I am in no way saying PSP games suck, theres just not too many good ones.  Even the ones I have bought I could play a better version on the consoles, I just wanted a new experiance (Burnout, Ratchet, Pirates, Daxter, Lumines is the only new one I own)

Well we are on the gamespot forum so PSP games > DS games. But even if they're even on gamesrankings it still contradicts all the DS fanboys who constantly say DS games are better than PSP games. And again you saying one game is more fun than the other is just an opinion. Everyones tastes in games is different. I'd have more fun with Burnout, but that doesn't mean my opinion has decided that it's true for everyone.

Depends what you're looking for. The types of games you'll find on each system are very different and if you look in the ''top games'' section for the DS and PSP you should probably quickly realise which games appeal to you the most. There's not really much point in me trying to sway you either way as everyones tastes in games vary. Just go for the system that has the games you want to play.

It's actually doing well IMO. When you consider that it's the more powerful, more expensive non casual system, selling over 20 million is pretty good going. The DS, much like the Wii, is basically going to keep on selling well since they're also targetting the non gamers and casuals with simple to pick up games like Brain Age and Nintendogs. They appeal to a wider age and sex group. By the way according to the gamespot reviews there are more than twice as many 8.0+ games on the PSP than the DS.

Maybe you could get a case for it just in case it falls or something??????????????????????????????????????????TheHimura
Yeah, maybe get a case. I got a Logitech PlayGear Pocket case (there may well be better ones out now?) and my PSP screen is still mint. Plus, for me, it feels more comfortable to play games when it's in the case as it gives you more to grip onto. I haven't had a single hardware failure / problem yet after owning it for over a year. It's been very reliable so far although I think my battery life is starting to diminish a bit.
