[QUOTE="ATG1"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"][QUOTE="payforaday"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"]What do ya know, Sony is once again rehashing another one of their console games on the PSP. Its going to flop miserably, PSP games suck and no one wants to play rehashes and ports of already bad PS2 titles. Sad fact is that the DS is still selling out around here while PSP's collect dust.DSgamer64
Umm.. what the hell? Oh, I mean, of course you're right because God of War is just such a horrible game. And it will obviously flop because Ratchet&Clank did so bad on the PSP scoring a 9.0 from IGN. DS fanboys .
Hooray for watered down graphics and poor controls of good console games like that. If I want to play God of War or Burnout Legends or Rachet and Clank or GTA, I will but the damn games for my PS2 so I can play them at home with high quality graphics and good controls. If I want to play mobile games, I will take my laptop with me or my DS Lite so I can play fun and unique games that are good and arent piss poor ports of console franchises (aside from Metroid Prime Hunters which sucked anyway). Oh and for the record, I dont see the PSP getting a portable version of Guitar Hero that will use touch screen so I suggest you cows shut your pie holes. I seem to recall a lot of you PSP fanboys hyping Loco Roco as AAA yet it flopped harder then a fat guy falling off a diving board.
Those ''watered down ports'' are currently outscoring your ''fun unique games''. PSP 5 AAA's, 47 AA's. DS 5 AAA's, 20 AA's. What people like to play is down to each individual gamer though so I respect your opinion.Funny considering Sales > scores. It doesnt matter what reviewers think, people actually buy the games they want and will enjoy. No one buys PSP games they already have as sales have proven that already and DS games are fun and unique, whether reviewers like them or not is their problem and only idiots would actually buy their games based on what reviewers think. Just cause a game may suck in their eyes doesnt mean they arent good. There are plenty of DS games worth playing that didnt score above 8.5 that I own and have enjoyed to the fullest extent, at the moment I have about 35 DS games that I would highly reccommend to anyone who is looking for a fun and unique gaming experience.
Well clearly scores don't always translate into games sales. But I really don't care if the system I own is the bestselling one or not either, as long as it has the games that I prefer to play.[QUOTE="ATG1"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"][QUOTE="payforaday"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"]What do ya know, Sony is once again rehashing another one of their console games on the PSP. I really don't think so........ Well theyre clearly not outselling the DS games but since they received high scores from a respected gaming website I imagine that they do have lasting replay value and very good gameplay and are fun and all the things that games need to be in order to receive such scores.[QUOTE="payforaday"][QUOTE="DSgamer64"]What do ya know, Sony is once again rehashing another one of their console games on the PSP. I don't know how accurate this site is but I thought I'd link it since it also gives a breakdown of the different regions. I don't think the PSP is doing too badly considering Nintendo have always pretty much owned in the handheld world.
[QUOTE="ATG1"]It's major games though are basically spin offs / ports from the SNES and N64 era so it's not really that different. cakeorrdeath
If by Major you mean sales then Nintendogs, Brain Training, Big Brain Academy, Pokemon, Wario Ware Touched, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time all have origins in handheld gaming or are new to the DS
If you mean major in terms of quality then there are a host of truly unique titles for the DS.
Elite Beat Agents, Advanced Wars, Trauma Center, Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright, etc
I was thinking more along the lines of Mario Kart DS, the Mario platformers, Starfox, Diddy Kong Racing, Yoshi's Island etc... all of which look great though. A lot the games you mentioned aren't even AA (wario ware, Trauma Center, Brain Training, Big Brain, Phoenix Wright) or were out, as you said, on the GBA so aren't exactly new. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the DS, I've been looking at maybe getting one, but it doesn't have enough games that I want for me to justify the purchase of one.
