@nannasin @A_Rabid_Dog @knb1503 Last i checked, the console cannot tell if there is a system update available if there is no internet connection in the first place. I actually own a ps3 and can confirm that I can most certainly watch blu-rays offline, as well as play games offline. Have you touched a ps3? Do you know what it looks like? Were you born in the past century? I have serious doubts about all of that.
@Ravenlore_basic @A_Rabid_Dog I would imagine their spin would be "The cloud offers unlimited gaming potential and is available for free with the Gold membership." and "Some content of this game requires the cloud to be playable. Upgrade now to receive the additional content for no additional purchase!"
@nannasin @knb1503 I don't see sony requiring a constant connection to the internet. And if they do decide to implement that, then they will be receiving hatred just as well. Right now MS is the "devil" because of how severely they are screwing over their consumers. This is bad business practice, and it's rightly pissing people off. You are welcome to your opinion, though, just as we are.
@Prats1993 The cloud is a great idea, but the technology is not available (widely at least) to make full use of it. If every home had gigabit DL speeds, it's a possibility, but that day is far off.
@juboner Tell that to all of the uprising MMOs as of late. Any online game streams data, so there are plenty of devs familiar with this tech. Whether or not they make use of it on a console is the question, but Microsoft seems to be pushing them to do that by investing Billions into game production. This is not going to end pretty, for either party involved.
