Actually, the one by the elevator of the only one you can get after beating the extra boss. The other can be gotten after you restore power and before turn to the room with Adam.

Toki1776

You can get the one by the elevator the first time you go through the room, but since it is in a box, it doesn't show up on the map till after the credits...

Really? I never knew that and I don't remember seeing that room until after I beat the game. Next playthrough, I'll make a note of it if one can get that item before the extra boss.

I just got 100% the last two upgrades that you're talking about were pissing me off too, but you can only get them after you beat phantoon.Minishdriveby

Now I understand what you're missing. The room you were in from the pic can only be gotten after you beat the extra boss and the last one is up a vent blocked by a barrier. Destroy the barrier and wall jump up to get the item (this one is another you can only get after beating the extra boss if you missed it the first time around near the beginning of the game).

Oops, my bad. The 2 upgrades are very close to eachother, close to a nonfunctional elevator. One of the upgrades is in the same room as the nonfunctional elevator, 2 rooms south of the main elevator room, and one is 3 rooms to the south of the main elevator room.Litchie

Let's see if I can decifer what you said:

There is an upgrade hidden up a vent; use your missiles to destroy the barrier.

And the last one is one floor above the room with the non-functioning elevator. Ignore this one for now since you can only reach it after beating the extra boss.

I hope this helps you since it is kind of difficult to tell which room you mean without some sort of referance (say an object in the area).

We can't help you if you don't tell us where they are located. There is one item that you can only get after you beat "the big squid thingy" as you put it.

Is there a power bomb door in the room with the elevators to all three sectors? If so, that's probably the one I'm missing. Otherwise I managed to go through that huge detour to find myself in the aforementioned elevator room, but the way to the mission objective is still blocked off on that end.

P.S. I managed to take down countless of those power bomb creatures and have 98% of the items because of that. The only two item left are on the way to that mission objective I can't reach

Pikminmaniac

There is one on top of a large tower with the insect-like monsters. Defeat them and run around the tower to activate your Speed Boost. Do a Shinespark jump up and use the Space Jump to reach to item on top of the tower. As for the other, I don't recall where it is.

Since you can now use Power Bombs there are enemies guarding doors. After you drop it they will attack. Defeat them, and you can access the door. This is also the only way you can reach the elevators to each of the Sectors. The first of these doors should be down a long corridor just outside where you were briefed at the beginning of the game. If all else fails, look in first person and if you lock on something that says "Power Bomb" that is the sign that it is an enemy guarding the door.

I agree. I'm glad that we get to see some background on Samus and that it is seamless with gameplay.

And usually these days, the story is full of play info that goes with the mission. When I see someone skip something, they are usually asking what they are supposed to be doing, shortly after.

I agree with you 100 percent. What's the purpose in skipping a cutscene when you would be asking what to do next a short time later.

What are you talking about, "you won't know what you're supposed to do"? It's Metroid, all you're supposed to do is kill everything.

What I mean is that any game no matter the genre skipping acutscene will leave you asking what to do next.
just skipping over halff the game because you don't care is almost as offensive as turning the voice acting off.aransom

Those of us who don't care about the cutscenes don't equate skipping them with skipping parts of the game. From our point of view, we're skipping over filler that interrupts the game, and we just want to get back to the game.

Then why can't we skip the cutscene in the Zelda games? Sure, you have someone telling you where to go next, but what about the games that are Pre-OoT? Even in StarFox 64, you CANNOT skip a cutscene until AFTER you beat the level. Sure those are short but the opening to your first mission is about a minute long. If someone can't sit through even a minute cutscene; then why do we even play games like that.

Sure, I watch each cutscene that shows up in my games, but I will only skip them after I get tired of watching them (after a dozen or so times that is. Yeah, I'm that patient).

Let's all calm down and think before we post. The game is not even out yet and several have complained about the reviews and certain aspects of the game to boot. So what if you can recharge your health by holding the Wii Remote vertical; then DON'T USE IT. Plain and simple idea. I, for one, hate wondering around aimlessly and not accomplishing anything at all. One of the reasons I actually like Fusion (the only Metroid game I actually played and liked) is because of the Objective Based aspect of the game.

I'll say this, I never heard of Metroid until I read about Super Metroid and I never got into the series at all. The Prime series I didn't like because it was from the First-Person Perspective and I really hate those kind of games.

There are SPOILERS over at the Other M gaming topic if anyone is interested as some have got the game due to broken street dates. Here are some spoilers that I have found interesting (CLICK AT YOUR OWN RISK)
Hard Mode: Collect all items
You return to the Bottle Ship Post Game and can collect anything you missed
New area and optional boss unlocked during Post Game.
Can skip cutscenes on subquential playthroughs on the same file
I may pick this up later after I read what we gamers say about this game since I trust those a little more than the professional ones.
