Desktop, no competition. And I have both. More powerful, more comfortable and a bigger screen.angelkimneYeah but with a laptop more mobility - play the game anywhere connect to a Larger HDTV screen with surround sound. More comfortable in on a couch and lounge. The only disadvante is the cost of laptops is still expensive and not as easily upgradable but it hasn't st

desktop for me due to cheaper components and being able to customise it alot. i used to play on a laptop during college but getting new drivers was such a pain. i dont know if its improved since. however if laptops were fully upgradeable and customisable then i would probably use a laptop for gaming instead. u can always plug a mouse and bigger keyboard into one as well as a 5 or 7.1 surround system and a big screen.osan0exactly and I think there is a lot of potential here. IThat's what I do with mine it certainly has the horse power to run games like Crysis and high settings on auto detect- and outpput at super high resolution on my large HDTV. so OI have sitting next to my TV acting a not only as a PC but a Console as well. It works like a charm for now and imagine having remote recievers for TVs- I could just lugg my laptop anywhere and play on any tv that will accept in wireless incoming conection- that's powerful mobile gaming Manufacturers really should make upgrading the seperate components really easy. It
Rule number one is not to buy a labtop for gaming, because you'll end up using it like a desktop then question yourself why you even got it in the first place. They can't be upgraded and the battery life on them is worse than a PSP.zaku101yeah but I think they have just come with some significant adanvements to battery life for portable - it was on this website called egadget
My room is too small for a desktop so I've recently bought a Vaio AW11Z/B laptop to satisfy my gaming needs. Laptops are good for casual PC gamers like myself but they're not good in the long term because they're difficult to upgrade. Plus, the performance is significantly worse when you compare it to a similar desktop.manicfootYeah that's the thing though, unless the manufacturers really start focusing on mobile gaming. You know with memory sticks and plug in play GPUs of the sort.
As much as I love my 360, yes the PS3 will pass it up soon enough. MasterKingMPyeah, and how soon enough. when?
Me. I prefer playing PC games on my laptop then a desktop.
I know desktops will always be powerful be equivalantley cheaper.
the advantages of laptop vs desktop
hhmm... because I can play games mobile for maybe an hour or 2 before the batteries run out.
uuhhmm... hhm....the sales for Laptops and poplarity of laptops have really increased comparable to desktops
I think that gaming on laptops will be a serious contender over consoles .
I sometimes use my laptop as a pseudo console
by playing crysis with a wireless 360 controller and it's pluged in via HDMI to my HDTV - wala super ultra PC/console.
Guys I think PC can really dominate over the game market again via powerfull gaming laptops
I was going to get an alienware gaming laptop but I settled for a HP HDX "dragon" 20 inch laptop- My baby!!!
seriously though Laptops could be a major contenderin the future- what do you guys think?
[QUOTE="darthogre"][QUOTE="3picuri3"] you want to be a mathamagician darthogre? do the math so you can see how impossible it is for the PS3 to take over the 360 at this point. please. 3picuri3
wow, so knowing basic division makes you a "mathamagician" lol? Ok, I won't even comment further on that.
Now as far as saying it's impossible for the PS3 to take over the 360........you do realize the PS3 is still the most EXPENSIVE console ever even at being 2 years old? No console outside of the 3DO (I owned one) launched at this high of cost ($399). To say that a price drop of another $100 wouldn't just completely overtake X360 in the matter of a year is foolish. X360 has NOWHERE to drop at this point. Sony was outselling MS being nearly twice as expensive. You don't have to be a "mathamagician" to understand when the PS3 is $299 or below, X360 is going to be in 3rd place.
ps, it's spelled mathematician......I guess since I know division and spelling I should be upgraded to genius level right....I kid, I kid :)
you expressed interest in math, so i though perhaps you were the mathemagician i was looking for. we proved a while back that it is more or less impossible for the PS3 to catch up this late in the game, just thought maybe you'd like to show people the maths :) but apparently you don't get it because you still think the PS3 can catch up if it dropped to 299, despite it requiring the 360 sales to almost stop entirely.you can quote me if you like: the PS3 will NEVER catch up the 360 before the next generation starts. it is impossible. it requires an act of god, or the 360 being proven poisonous to touch so people don't buy it at all.
I don't want to give Cows false hopes , but maybe, just maybe it could be possible if Sony copies Nintendo's model of success. uuhhmm.. how would that work out a price range of $299 or cheaper then the Wii and sell a lot of casual games to really appeal to the casual market, as well as have a lot of great quality titles like SMG, Supersmash brothers and other nintendo quality titles of similair calibre- hhmmm... for me I say it wil close the gap with a 35% percent chance of taking 2nd place :) there I'm optimistic!blah blah blah more sales talk, cause thats the only thing lems have to use against the ps3... when did 360 fanboys start turning to sales? wasn't everyone bashing sheep for doing the same thing?Sword-Demon
Why not? it's a valid issue and a major issue at that. sadly the number of consoles sold is a strong indication of it's popularity aruge it anyway you want.
Is PS3's image good enough for it to keep attracting more customers over the Xbox360 ? It's been said that PS3 's sales rate is higher! so and if it stays considerably constant -
when will it overtake the Xbox360.?
that was the TC's question?
yes, but this thread doesn't change the fact that the attach ratio for Xbox360 is very good, obviously a substantial amount of people buy and play games on the Xbox360.
so this thread doesn't accuratley make sense.
I hear people hear saying Oh I've got a Pc, PS3 and Xbox360 but don't play games on the Xbox360.
ask your self why did you get it? Xbox360 is used to play games..
t's the games which is the best advice for people who can't decide whether to get PS3 or Xbox360.
then you can break it down.
the cost of the console.
the size of the library of games and it's quality of titles
ease of use and consistency of it's online service
the ongoing support for the games
Does it have a big library of games that can satiate your tastes,
