So, instead of messaging him or her back saying, "Look, that's nice I guess but I don't care. Please don't spam my inbox like this," you simply removed that person from your friends list? :?

DrRockso87

I know him IRL and didn't wanna come off as a d*ck. Aside from his nerdiness with trophies he's cool.

I remember hoping Megaman X4 would see a sequel, it did take 4 years until they announced X5, only to be disappointed by the poor presentation and almost total disregard of the events that occured to Zero in X4. My biggest gaming letdown to this day.

There was like this epic, huge super war/ event ting that was heavily referenced in Aria of Sorrow, and it involved Julius losing his memory, I beleive. And I tihnk it took place in 1999... I would love to see a game about that.

turtlethetaffer

Oh lol. I thought you meant the N64's Castlevania released in '99. I actually thought about the same set-up for the next portable game right after I beat Dawn. Though Portrait and Order proved the DS won't see it. Shame, maybe the 3DS.

I worried about that alot back when I first got my launch PSP. But in the end it never was a serious problem. So I'm guessing my 3DS will also hold up without any major issues.

hahaha no i dont. i know it differs from country to country, the amount of control the religious authorities have on the people that is. i remember i traded an atari game with a guy from egypt as a kid and apparently my atari 2600 cartridge found its way to egypt

glimpus

Did I mention that Akira Yamaoka was guest speaker at a gaming covention here last November? Great guy, he signed my copy of Silent Hill 2.

i think thats kinda cool. from what i understand its not that bad, unless youre a woman, then uhh, things arent great.

glimpus

Not to go off-topic again, but that depends on the mindset of the person. For example, you find it a natural right to date and have intimate relationships with women out of wedlock. I see it as immoral, sinful, and downright wrong, so do alot of women here. So in the end, we commend the police's drive for public morality excluding hardlining. I'm not the kinda guy who shoves my beliefs onto others though. You respect me and I'll respect you. Heck, I even give support to foreign friends I know are having a hard time with any relationship. As long as it's natural for him and a way of life, who am I to judge?

anyway, if you can, redeem your points for games.

glimpus

Like I said, I'm used to it. Wondered what other people excluded from all reward programs thought of it. As long as I can sell it used it's no biggie.

I grew up with a lot of people who escaped from the middle east, so i know quite a bit about it. and i agree, fox news is junk. but so are theocracies.

glimpus

This is my last post that's off-topic. Video games are a universal langauge, similar to music. The only difference between my childhood and yours in terms of gaming is that the market in Saudi which I grew up in was alot more niche and stores were more speciality-based back then. I played what you played, I enjoyed what you enjoyed, and to this day I don't recall a single incident were I felt threatned buying a game as if it was against the law, because it actually wasn't. Nor did the media ever report about the morality police with anything related to gaming. Entertainment was niche but I could probably even name more US/European 80's cartoons than you recall. Japanese Anime dubbed into Arabic makes me more knowledgable on that topic for sure.

This is all assuming you think I grew up in something equivalent to a cave in terms of entertaiment.

hey man, its just a joke! in saudi? are the morality police cool with you playing japanese games?

glimpus

Your ignorance amuses me. Stop watching Fox News and go out more. The morality police only ban sexually suggestive/religiously critic games and only if they're reported. And even if they're banned, most stores will still sell them. They pretty much are mutually exclusive from gaming. And no, I'm not typing this wearing a towel/turben. FYI, among gamers, Miyamoto, Mario and Zelda are household names.

And sorry, sarcasm doesn't translate well on text. This isn't OT.

To be honest I'm kind of surprised video games haven't been banned there. They've gotta be at least as dangerous as Bart Simpson dolls.

I don't care if this is dickish, I couldn't resist.

glimpus

Ignorant racist.

That stinks :( I'm lucky its in Australia. Maybe they don't see it as viable there yet?Fire_Emblem_RD

Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo are yet to have an official representative Saudi sponsor/agency. That's mostly the reason me thinks. Sony products especially are sold within dedicated Sony stores. And Microsoft have a regional office around here. But Nintendo's stuff is still being sold via 2nd/3rd-party retail outlets exclusively.

No biggie, I've been used to seeing useless US packaged ads about tips&tricks and coupon rewards programs since the SNES days. Sony and Microsoft have the advantage of not being gaming-exclusive, so they basically merged their gaming endeavors to the product sponsor they already had set-up. Nintendo's a big deal around here and it's an un-tapped market to sponsor officially. But meh, not having the rewards program won't hinder me from the usual "sell the game once I'm done with it" practice. I appreciate the empathy though.

You removed a friend because he announced he got a Platinum on a game... Then call him nerdy.

gotdangit

It's tolerable enough to see how nerdy people get over trophy collecting. But bragging/spamming my inbox over a platinum as if he won the superbowl? Yeah, I'd rather not have people with the maturity of a 12-year-old flooding my inbox.

Aside from multiple endings, if platinum'ing a game does not add a prologue of sorts to the solo campaign nor anything extra to the story then I frankly don't care. E.g. Sold FFXIII-2 after beating it once.

You seem trophy-serious, so I'm not surprised at the remark. Whatever floats your boat dude. Just do as I do and kindly don't shove your interest with trophies on me. And that's why I removed him. Simple.
