Some maybe find Legends solid but I personally feel it's horrible.

I agree.

Maverick Hunter X was one of my favorite PSP games, even if it was just a remake.

It's a huge bummer it didn't sell well enough for Inafune to reboot the entire series (up to X6). You could tell he would do it if he could.

It's not classical in the sense of Mozart and the like, but look up Yanni.

Your title is a statement, yet you put a question mark at the end.

I'm asking OT if their hype for the movie stemmed from Daft Punk significantly. You can't deny it was a huge Marketing boost for the film.

I gotta admit, even though I was interested about TRON:Legacy for nostalgia's sake and my interest in Disney movies, 70% of my interest and hype for it was due to Daft Punk's invovelment (you can obviously tell I'm a hardcore fan). Like, how could they possibly top the best night of my life (Alive 2007)? I mean, I even bought the collector's edition of TRON:Evolution and have been keen on any news regarding a sequel or post-promotional content (when's that tour gonna happen?).

On a sidenote, yeah the OST was over-hyped to heck and it definetely was blown outta proportions but it compliments the movie well (not to mention the remix album kinda makes up for it). I always wondered how Derezzed would showcase in it prior to watching the movie and boy oh boy did I headbang like a concert attendee when it came up. Epic moment. The theater's soundsystem made it all the more sweeter.

Mind you, I'm not the "Daft Punk made the movie was it is" kinda fan. But as I stated I was significantly hyped due to their involvement.

What's wrong with the game?

LovePotionNo9

Are you asking because you personally enjoyed the game or are you new to the series? If you're unfamiliar with the series then kindly draw your attention to the following user review of a fellow KH fan. He pretty much hit the nail on the head in a very detailed fashion, kudos to him:

I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, and I knew the mess I was getting into when I bought RE:Coded. I knew I wouldn't fully enjoy it and even hate it gameplay-wise but I still played it for the story. I can see what people who beat the game mean when they say they wish they just watched the clips on Youtube. And I sorta did the same. By the time I got to the final area of the game I couldn't take it anymore and decided "Forget it, I got the most outta the game, let me Youtube the rest". And sure enough Youtube showed me how I had gone through 95% of it.

If you're a fan of the franchise's plot then you simply cannot ignore the game, you'll feel obligated to experience the story. I feel like SquareEnix tortured me...

I feel for you, my classic DS has had a dead pixel since day one. I even asked if it's worth exchanging due to it but I got convinced that it aint distracting nor a big deal for me and been with it since (never upgraded to a Lite and on). Of course, it's all preference.

Honestly, I think the gameplay in MGS is pretty lackluster.

psx2514

Nowadays yeah. But back then it was revolutionary. Never before had I played a game so thrillingly immersive. Was the first game that made me feel like I was in a Holywood movie.

MGS2's gameplay improves much on the first but the plot is a different story. Basically gameplay-wise it got better and better as the (console) sequels went on.

I would appreciate it if they took some notes from 4. I know that Inafune no longer works for Capcom, but isn't 4 the most popular of the X franchise?user

iwwp0w

If there's one thing I've noticed, probably starting in X5, Capcom just started to add too much to the games, which really dragged them down. Whether saving reploids that offer nothing, to having crappy level design, to forcing the series into 3D, adding in useless characters and RPG elements, etc, etc, it really took away from the core experience that the first few X games offered. Mega Man is one of those series that really doesn't transition well into 3D, and by adding in those elements, we're really only seeing a jumbled messuser

QFT. Waited 3 years for X5. Was hyped as hell holding it in my hand popping it in my PS1. And then the first cutscene ran..... *que my biggest disappointment in gaming*. It's been downhill for X and Zero since then. And I HATE the direction they took Zero artistically with the MMZ series. They ruined my favorite video game character.

Wow man I'm in violent disagreement with you here. But hey, it's your opinion, and we aren't in System wars, so I won't argue with you.

turtlethetaffer

I'm not here to argue, I'm simply stating my opinion on the matter. From your reaction you make it sound like you didn't expect disagreeable opinions. Not to go off-topic but through your life you will meet a significant number of people who'll disagree with alot of what you have to say on matters, and if you let their opinions get the better of you then you're in for a harsh life. Don't let it affect you too much, learn to ignore most of it. What's the point of getting all upset and affecting your health for an opinion of someone who won't change their mind on a given topic? Let alone for something as simple as a video game. My point is there's no point in taking the matter personal and I never intended to agitate anyone with my opinion, it's only a game.

Back on-topic, like I said, Termina's image was sadly tarnished by the game's mechanics IMO. Now if they could make a game in which you'd switch back and forth between Hyrule and Terminal while keeping the classic mechanics intact. Now that would be something.
