It sounds like Bungie has gotten a little too full of themselves. Based on their previous comments they seem to think they reinvented the first person shooter. I like Halo, but it didn't reinvent the first person shooter.
I'm sorry but I've got news for these guys, the idea of ownership hasn't changed a bit. If I purchase a product, I own it. I don't rent it, lease it or license it, I own it, and if I can't own it, I don't want it. Another point, I've been playing video games for probably 30 years, and I've always had the ability to allow not just 10 friends and family members but an unlimited number of friends and family members play games wherever they wanted as long as you have the game console and the game. Microsoft is taking stupid to a new level, and I say that not as a fan boy but as someone who has actually preferred the Xbox and Xbox 360 to the PS2 and PS3.
I don't want an "all in one entertainment system", I want a game console that is primarily designed to play games. I'm also purchasing a product, not a license. Nothing I've seen so far gives me a compelling reason to rush out and purchase a PS4 or an Xbox One (or whatever the heck they call it). Where are the good old fashioned corporate raiders when you need them? Some idiots need to be cleared out of both of these companies.
@Scorpion1813 A commercial product is still a commercial product regardless of the purpose of the product. Weapons are no different from anything else. I imagine Apple would have a few things to say if you started portraying Iphones or Ipads in games. Oil is a commodity and not a product that can be trademarked.
Seriously? Did EA's attorneys get their law degrees from online or mail order law schools? Commercial speech isn't covered by the First Amendment, and either is using a trademark for commercial purposes.
I think its a big positive that there is no multiplayer. I would rather they focus on the single player game. There are only going to be so many COD games out there for everyone to play online.
