I agree on the cartoon part.

As far as old games not holding up... I don't know about that really. I play games differently now. In my very early gaming days I'd sit and play "Frog Bog" by myselfon my Intellivision and try to get a high score... I would never do that now, but instead I play it as a drinking game with my buddies when they come over.I still enjoy most of the games I enjoyed before, but surely there are a few that has just aged badly, likeearly 3D stuff (especially the FPS stuff on the Genesis) that I enjoyed just because they were in 3D.Of course, bad games are always bad.

In general, I still enjoymost of the old games I used to enjoy in the past.

My guess is that they're still manufactured since they still sell by the truckload in Thailand where I live.

It's still the best selling console here, including current gen (probably because kids have less money than in Europe, Japan or America). The original Xbox is almost non-existent here but kids still buy Ps2s. My point is that all these consoles need to come from somewhere so I guess they are still made, somewhere.

I love my Xbox The Lord of the ring games, Star Wars Battlefront, Fable, Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Mercenaries and Chrinicles of Riddick - Escape from butcher bay.

I also like Amped (I only played the first one though. I still play it once in a while)

[QUOTE="Emerald_Warrior"]

[QUOTE="Darkman2007"] have you been watching clas-ic game room??Darkman2007

...maybe. But he has a point.

of course, plenty of games could use them.

Do you remember/ did you ever play Dogs of War for the Amiga/Atari ST (I don't think it was ported to the contemporary consoles)?

It was the first shoot em up that I played ,in which you could actually kill the other guy when you played co-op, but you could only do so with the flamethrower. Every time your friend bought a flamethrower in between missions you were like "Oh noo. You better be careful!! If you burn me again I'll kick your A$$!"

Flamethrowers were always cool. It was a good weapon in Midnight Resistance !

As far as flaws in favorite games go... I'd say the difficult of some of the missions in G-police (PS1) and ... That killer doll in Onimusha. Great Idea and I know it's now considered a classic V-game enemy but, come on!

[QUOTE="Ashley_wwe"] It did sound a bit like a strategy/RPG kinda game and unfortunately, I am just not in to those :(. The only turn-based strategy game I really cared about was Metal Gear Ac!d because it's Metal Gear, but it was a bit too hard for me :(. Maybe when I finally get around to completing those games, I might look in to it proper :). Metal Gear Ac!d's difficulty scares me in the way that I kept thinking I would eventually have to fight Metal Gear and how am I supposed to do that if I can't even take 3 guys in one area down without being seen?.fend_oblivion

Just think of it like a better version of chess. Oh, and the game becomes difficult gradually. But trust me, at the end, you will be a master tactician :P

I love Advance wars!

One of the best, if not THE best, TB strategy games ever released on any console.

Games I can think of right now that I play at least once a year in no particular order:

Lord of the rings the third age XBOX

Rock'n roll racing SNES

Baldur's gateseries XBOX

Golden Axe GEN

Starcraft PC

Any Final fantasy game (Legacy) PS1

Soulblade PS1

Star Wars Battlefront XBOX

Advance Wars GBA

Fire Emblem GBA

I probably forgot many games but Whatever :)

Recently went to Blockbuster today and they were getting rid of some old games, and I actully found this title for a £1-

Back of the game says-

Journey back to fuedal Japan to do battle with a dark shogun and his evil minions. Cut a swath of destruction and bloodshed in the ultimate samurai slash em up. From the makers of Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill.

It came with no manual, outside the UK it's calledSoul of the Samurai, has anyone esle heard of this game?

benleslie5

Yeah! I have it. Good purchase for that price. You get 2 playable characters with different (somewhat) storylines. I personally liked the game, If you want you can read my review to see what I think about it. It's a slow but cool game. I also have the European version (Scandinavian). I bought it full priced though if I remember correctly.:)

Aren't we talking about the WORST accessory here, or is this some kind of 32x vs 64DD.

In what way is 32x a worse add-on than the Activator or TeeV Golf? If we're talking games n' stuff, leaving out the business side. I think there are much worse accessories than the 32x. The "Batter up", anyone? How many games worked with that?

Personally, I tried to like my buddy's fishing rod for the DC but...In my opinion that comes closer to winning the prize of "Worst" accessory

I just realized that you guys ARE only talking about add-ons and not accessories 'scuse me. :)

I'd buy some for sure. I'm a vinyl freak myself. I rarely buy CDs, for the same reasons. I like the format of LPs, the big covers, lyricsheets, turning the sides. Yeah people think I'm crazy, but it's the same with Legacy games. I like the boxes and manuals. I think the virtual consoles are basically good ideas, but this whole thing about not having the physical cart, CD or whatever feels uncomfortable in a way.

/short answer, yes I would!

[QUOTE="Ashley_wwe"]Ooh, interesting! lol :P. Is that how you pronounce the letter Z, or is it a different name for the game? sorry if it is the letter, I just personally haven't heard of that one :P.Ashley_wwe

Z is pronounced Zee in American English and Zed in British English :) hence the confusion, and since it's made by bitmap brothers it's probably pronounced Zed.

This was one of my first PC games (I had my Amiga for a loong time) but I thought it was too hard and played Warcraft instead.

Yeah, I knew that bit, but thanks :P. The bit I was confused with was the guy above me said "zeta" :). I wondered if that was the actual way some language pronounced Z or if it had a different name. Ooh, awesome :). They were never my type of game, to be honest. The only games that I like in the Strategy/RPG world is Metal Gear Ac!d for the PSP, which is Turn-based Strategy, but even then it can frustrate me a little because it is hard :P.

I prefer turn-based strategy games. Online I'm just useless. I love Starcraft (1) and I bought the Battlechest a couple of weeks back and registered online. I got my axx handed to me by a 13 year old Chinese guy (I live in Thailand so I play on the Asian server) ha ha. I still enjoy the campaigns though.

Never played MGS Acid
