@elefantas21 @Aleksa8 Yeah, I don't remember more than a single cutscene in Dark Souls at all, but I was referring to Horror sequences, not video games in general. You don't have the camera man present the monster for you. You let the monster, itself make its presence known. THAT'S how you scare your audience.
@Starry_Notion @Aleksa8 I should have been more specific. There's a part where he meets up with a chainsaw guy. Instead of the game actually letting you find that out for yourself, the guy is there in a cinematic scene which prompts a chase sequence.
I'm just not a fan of lengthy single player games. I just prefer multiplayer. I just don't like the idea of spending hours on end on a quest with AI people pretending to be your co-op buddies. And I KNOW this game will never hold my attention for more than a few hours because of that. Heck, I LOVED Dragon Age, but never got around to finishing it.
But damnit, every time I hear these devs talk I get pushed one step closer into buying every bit of The Witcher, from beginning to the latest in the franchise. My respect for them just keeps swelling uncontrollably.
Seriously, it single-handedly kills off any horror and mystery whenever a monster gets introduced. At least it's not a lengthy cutscene which shows them being "badasses," like in Cry of Fear, but still a great mood-killer.
But the rest of the game at least looks promising. Better than any AAA horror game out there.
@SimonSiThornton Sadly, there is no multiplayer at all to speak of, which is quite a shame because finally having a co-op mode would have been great in the wild west setting.
