Just a heads up to other owners: my left joycon after the update strangely wouldn't sync when it was actually mounted to the system. I was able to get it to work fine by removing the joycon from the system and using the sync button to wirelessly sync the joycon with the system. Then when I mounted the left joycon back on the unit it seemed to work fine and has been okay ever since. Hope this helps someone that has the same issue.
Sorry, should have been a bit more specific: full clock speed. When in handheld mode, it lowers the clock from about 760 MHz to about 300 MHz which is about a 60% drop in performance. I'm sure this was done to conserve battery power and possibly for heating concerns. Even with a reduction in the resolution, many other functions would probably run slower as well.
I've already pre-ordered the thing and paid it off, but just trying to understand the performance for if I took it away from the dock.
Here's my question: Since we know that having the system in it's portable mode lowers performance does plugging the system in with the AC adapter or USB C cable allow the system to run full speed without the dock?
For example, if you're at a friend's house and plug the thing in would you be able to play it in the portable configuration but at full speed?
Specifically with regards to the remaster edition I don't think it would have really bothered the PC players much. Mods already made the game look better than this so it's not really anything new for them.
For those on the consoles it's really nice for the PS3/360 era players.
Shadow doesn't have to die if you handle the escape from Kefka properly. That might be a reason it's not on the list, but then again the same could be said for Celes' attempted suicide. Still, good point that it at least deserves a mention.
Note: Poe Dameron was originally supposed to die. After J.J. Abrams talked to the actor they decided they really wanted to keep him alive so they changed the script.
I'm pretty sure they will flesh out the background for Finn in books, etc. They seem to really want to leave room to expand with the other media opportunities.
