Valkyria Chronicles was one of my favorite games of last generation, and while watching the title screen movie for the first time I knew I was in for an excellent experience.
Edit: The growth of Rosie's character is one of the many strong points of the game - an excellently written character.
One of my favorite details so far, has been a friend and I were playing and we both wanted to approach a dialogue differently. This caused an argument between characters, which we had to solve with a mini-game of rock paper scissors until one of us had the required number of points (I think it was 5 wins) then that character got their way and convinced the other. It was awesome.
One of the most crazy villains in gaming (behind Kefka in Final Fantasy 6) is Albedo in Xenosaga 1. Not only has he one of the best maniacal laughs, but how many villains tear off their own head with their hands to prove they're immortal?
**SPOILER** Bonus points for having a back story about why, and ultimately is able to come back from madness and even achieve redemption by the third game.
Dark Souls 2 and Pillars of Eternity (fingers crossed) are probably my most anticipated games of 2014. Many others as well, but those two stand above all others for me.
Alienware isn't even the same company anymore, they're just a division of Dell. Which does not inspire confidence from me. I'd probably shop around and look at the other Steam Machine offerings, but hey it's awesome to see a variety of options. Myself, I'll just continue to enjoy my PS4 and my PC I built. :)
If you're looking for the $5.99 deal, it's at the amazon link above. When you get on the Amazon page, click the right arrow to see page 2 of the products and click on the link there for the PC version. It's a Steam copy, $5.99. Enjoy!
