Let's be real this was a waste of money for Sony. They just flushed a ton of money down the drain on a tornament that was already dying and bleeding money anyway.

@pmanden: I am not even that big of a Xbox fan and even I can admit that this service is the best thing in the gaming industry right now. Microsoft has carved their own sector of the industry just like Nintendo carved their own sector of the industry through the handheld Nintendo switch dominating. I don't understand how the haters of Xbox can keep on underestimating Game Pass. Octopath Traveler and Nier Automata are huge wins for Game Pass.

Nintendo 1st party is just way too powerful in comparison to the competition. It's the main reason to buy Nintendo systems. It's not a shock that nobody can crack that stranglehold. The competition consoles are dominated by 3rd parties and it's harder for those 1st parties to crack that type of stranglehold over on their own consoles. Its always been like this ever since the NES and Super NES generations ended.

Switch : My main console. I play all of my JRPG's on it.

From Fire Emblem to Xenoblade Chronicles, you name it, I more than likely already have it.

I agree with Microsoft stance on this matter. To me VR is useless. At least at this point in time in history VR is worthless. Now don't get me wrong maybe 10 or 20 years from now it will be something that's viable but at this point in time it brings nothing to the table.

@Sagemode87: I hope you know you're going to be singing a different tune by the end of the summer. All of the Bethesda games are going to be exclusive with the game pass and if you've been keeping up with the news they have been going hard in the paint getting Square Enix jrpgs on the platform not to mention they're going to have all the same exact big third-party support that your beloved company of choice is getting. They have strengthened their first and second party Studios tenfold. And they are still going to be buying out companies because they have way more money than your beloved company. So you can put them down all you want it's not going to change the fact that game pass is going to be the number one service in the industry definitely by the end of this generation.

@Litchie said:

Xbox? No. Stopping Sony and replace them with SEGA would've been nice.

Can't think of anything good Sony has done for the industry. Crappy hardware and boring games since the beginning.

Would've been fun with SEGA vs. Nintendo vs. Microsoft. Microsoft would get much flak for being the worst of the three, but everyone would have sweet games to play.

Now we mostly have Nintendo for good stuff, a little bit of good stuff with MS, and pure crap with Sony. It's not even fun to make fun of Sony anymore, they suck so much and still sell a shitload. It's just sad.

I totally agree with your post so you are not alone in the way that you feel. Square Enix would have been just fine because Nintendo has worked with them all through the 80s and most of the 90s. Just because Nintendo wanted to stick with cartridges does it mean anything square-enix was originally going to make Final Fantasy 7 for the Nintendo 64 until they found a better deal with the competition by way of CDs. Nonetheless Square Enix would have been just fine working with Nintendo exclusively in the later half of the 90s if that other company never came into the picture. I understand that there are so many Fanboys of that Corporation in this world they will always make up stories of how Square Enix would have went out of business without that Corporation when we all know that's a bunch of lies. At the end of the day I agree with you. Your whole entire post and everything you've been saying in this chat is on point and I agree with it wholeheartedly.

if Sony won't do it why do anyone think Nintendo would be stupid enough to do it. Any console manufacturer that allows game pass on their system will quickly cut into third-party support for that console manufacturer. It will be near impossible for that company to continue to receive a cut of third-party sales the moment they allow Game Pass on the system. The only company that benefits from that would be Microsoft. This is why neither Nintendo or Sony will be that gullible to let game pass on there product

Congratulations to Nintendo for keeping their 27 month winning streak going strong.
