@Bigboi500: As always, I love your threads. I agree with everything you are saying here. @shadowchronicle: just because you think vita has more value than the 3ds, doesn't make it true. To many people, The 3D aspect of the 3DS is a huge selling point. Vits is just another psp with better graphics, nothing new.
@nitekids2004: you are showing us some amazing looking games but you are forgetting that in the handheld market, graphics are not the most important thing. Those games won't change things at all. Price is the key. Just look back at the past in order to see the future. Gameboy vs gamegear. Ds vs psp. And now 3ds vs vita. In the handheld market cheaper prices = more sales. Now if you look at the iphone and those tablets you will find games with equal or better graphics than what you are showing us with those photos. My point is sony is fighting a losing battle in the handheld market. A market that's mostly geared towards children and casuals.
@WarTornRuston: in away you are right. If sony releases the vita worldwide they will be doomed. Most people will not buy that overpriced handheld. Only sony fans, and some hardcore gamers will buy it. There is too much competition for dollars. We have tablets, smart phones, THE Wii U (coming this year) we also have the 3DS + wii, ps3 and 360. There isn't going to be a lot of wiggle room for the vita to succeed. I know this isn't about home consoles its about the mobile market, I know ijust mentioned some home consoles just now but I actually agree with your main points WarTornRuston. Smart phones and tablets are going to be a true problem for the vita and 3DS as time goes on. The price of vita and its memory cards are going to be the nail in its coffin when all those casual gamers hear about the prices. They better lower the cost before it hits stateside or prepare for a second lose in the handheld wars.
Dear mr. TC "Slimmin360", you are failing to see the points being made here today. The vita will never surpass the 3DS. This is not the home console market. Power and specs mean nothing in the handheld arena. Its a market aimed at children for the most part. Core gamers prefer HOME CONSOLES over handhelds here in the usa. This race is going to turn into another DS versus PSP. If you can not see that now, then I am sorry.
I agree with everything the TC has stated here today. The PS3 had a horrendous launch lineup and the price was way too much for a video game console which most parents still view as a toy for children. Also the user named 'DrakesHaloGears ' is just a blind sony fanboy that cannot see how many faults sony made this gen. Price is the main reason PS3 will go down in history as the loser of this console cycle. Once again sony learned nothing from its past mistakes and are about to release the vita which is also too expensive. Price, price, price, price!!! In a bad economy like the one we are experiencing now, releasing such a high priced system is ridiculous.
I am enjoying this topic and I agree with a lot of the things being said here today. I think sony is in trouble too basically because of the high price this system is at. Price is s0o0o0 important when it comes to the handheld market.
As long as 3DS succeeds, then Nintendo should be fine with the Wii U. Whether or not the Wii U wins the next generation, I'm sure it wii be a very profitable system for Nintendo. They learned a lot from the 3DS and I'm very proud of them. As for the vita, I am not interested in it because its TOO expensive. Those memory card prices are ridiculous. At this point, I am hoping that microsoft enters the handheld race, I'm sure things would be much interesting.
