@Thanatos2k: He was the executive producer for a lot of games and Zelda did start being developed under Iwatas management. Plus: there may be some period of mourning after his sudden passing at the company as well as some reshuffleing in some projects. Maybe the delay is based on the new CEOs decision and that would be a direct result of Iwatas passing too. We don't know for sure, but it could be. However, the main thing is Nintendo should USE the delay to polish the product as good as possible.
@somberfox: yeah and if they don't use their gimmicks it's bad as well...
yet, VR is a gimmick and you have to move (at least your head) for the best experience. almost everyone is "yay" for it, but at the same time it's bad when you have to move at starfox, zelda, and whatever... I don't get it.
Nintendo is not forcing you at a lot of games. They updated most Wii U games for use with the classic controller with the Wii U. There are some exceptions of course. Starfox for example. But sometimes its just the gamers. Why not at least trying? It seems like everything nintendo is doing is supposed to be "boo", but when you actually try that stuff, you start to see what they are aiming at and it's not that bad or broken.
Not to mention it's also somewhat clever to add the tablet (Gamepad) to a system rather than making sure you add some weird apps that need to work on every mobile device. And the gamers have to buy such a device too. I know there are two sides of this medal, but the concept of both, Wii U AND Wii, are good ones. The problem is: Nintendo does barely show the big bonus you gain by it. Motion control sucks, when it feels like your action is just pressing a button by some waggle motion. Why not using the gamepad as FULL SCREEN for one player in 2P-Mode at Mario Kart 8? THIS stuff does suck, not the concepts in general. But that's just me.
Sure, it does taste bitter and it's a pity for every Wii U owner, but I am waiting for E3 first. And maybe they use the extra time to fill the open world of Zelda and polish it up nicely. I got pretty much brored after 80 hours of Xenoblade, because - even though the world was nice to look at - there was so much wrong with the missions, etc.
@sladakrobot: The sudden death of Iwata may be a reason for a delay too and they better release t on both systems at the same time rather than making a remaster or whatever for NX. But that's just my POV.
I still have a lot to buy for my Wii U, so I'm okay by that, but I am not that happy about Zelda. Good for NX, meh for Wii U... I don't know...
As for "new concept = boo nintendo for gimmicks": Why is nobody complaining about gimmicky VR-headsets and motion controlled VR-games? Oh yeah... because THIS here is Nintendo, right? I fail to see the point in some arguments from a lot of people. If you say gimmicks are bad here, why are you getting gay for VR on other news?
