Digital distribution is getting a more and more important factor of the gaming industry which is started to be used in regions where it wasn't well spread. Probably most on the PC and services like Steam, Metaboli, Direct2Drive, etc. while the console versions of Xbox Live, PlayStation store, and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection still have a huge defect - there are unavailable in some regions (eg. my country and the countries nearby). To be exact, there are unavailable for our accounts what can be overcome by opening profiles with foreign addresses, but with restrictions in the purchase of games and other content.

On the other hand, the iPhone and appstore shows us every day the benefits of digital distribution and premise of instant-purchase and more importantly - buying content that is offered to all of us at the same time. No division by countries, regions, unions, cooperatives... that was the way we imagined the online distribution. Especially after Sony over four years ago announced that the PlayStation 3 will be region free for games.

But the reality is still a little different where the games are not fully free of the division by regions, even at the PlayStation 3 (for more information about regional lockouts visit this blog written by Canana), and if you want to use digital distribution on the consoles, it is necessary to create a fixed account on the server, depending on the region. Where the server in Germany will offer different content than the one in the UK. Not to mention US and Japan. Even the otherwise available PC services are starting to be more and more limited by regions because of differences in currency exchange rate.

These changes are making digital distribution more and more complex for the final users although its largest advantage should be simplicity and availability. Just the way appstore is doing which, as we already mentioned, offers the most content with the least restrictions. Locks per region on appstore mainly comes down to content that is fully adapted to the region while the rest is all available at the same time and at the same price. And away from you for just few touches on the screen.

Now the real news. Probably many of you realised that I haven't been very active in the last time. Why? Mostly because I wasn't enough time on internet and I have spend a lot of time with my friends outside :P. So I'm sorry that I haven't commented your blog, I will try to that but if you really want that I read one of your blogs then just provide me with the link ;). I forgot the unions even more so tomorrow I'm hope that I'm back in them also :P. Aside those facts, I've been playing mostly Fallout 3, Mirror's Edge, Sims 2 (just to easy myself till Sims 3 :P), Age of Empires II (I've been playing that old game :P) and one game that is really disappointing for me and it's a game that I got this month (I got some more but I'm gonna just let you know this one before the monthly blog which should be up on April 1). It's LotR Conquest. It has many things that bother me while I was playing it. The story is good, I mean it's LotR, the graphics are average but the gameplay, lasting appeal and the sound wasn't in the range of my good taste :P. If I need to give it a score it would be a 3.0. I also decided to make a new review. It's Dead Space review. The game got a good 9.0 from me. I really was surprised by that game so I finally made a new review which took a lot of time from me and if you want to read it there it is (don't forget, I'm not going to do this very often, I mean on the reviews :P it took hell of time from me :P):

ReFuture - One console?

The Big 3

Even thought we just set foot in this generation called the next-gen and just recently games showed up which can carry the honorable word "next-gen", on internet there are gossips about an even newer generation, which according to these gossip, should show up sometimes in 2012. Such ideas are sounding amazing when we take in considering the profit and selling of all three home consoles of this generation. Nintendo's Wii is always selling in fantastic numbers. X-box 360 is very popular on the North America market and even in Europa it's selling a lot better then his predecessor. Even Sony's PlayStation 3, despite the negative comments when compared with the competition, and the high price, it is better selling then the PS2 in the same time since it was put for public selling. Why would then "The Big 3" hurry to finish this successful rampard on the market when there isn't any sell drops on the horizons despite the economic crisis? Wouldn't it be more natural to await the shift of the generation sometimes from 2015 to 2017?

The Wii 2?

That would mean that not any of these three companies would need to start the developing of there new hardware before 2011. Maybe all this speculation are just the wishes of the reporter from some gaming sites on internet, because the cost of the releasing of a new console on market just don't allow the manufacturing company to "heat up" with a new piece of hardware even when the on-going generation on market is very succesfull or the sales are just keep to get higher. It is interesting that this generation was the one who was directed to bring gaming and video-content in high definition in most homes, but it didn't succeeded in that even near, because a very little amount of costumers can or is able, with his new console, to get a HD television which is even more expensive the the new "toy". That is one more reason why not to change to a even newer generation of consoles until a good % of market truly is ready to consume HD content in there full quality. There were circulating some gosips that the next generation should bring mashines with 3D display of games and movies, the question is how much of that is posible despite the fact that most of the market isn't ready to accept HD, which price in the moment is much smaller then product which are able to produce 3D display.

X-box 720?

In all this, again maybe just the wish of some authors, there are stories about a single machine for gaming, which would mean they should exist just one console on the market. Such idea on this market system is just one the level of pure fantasy, because none of the big manufactures don't want to spoil there chance, with there own product, to make a better market succes then there competition. We shouldn't forget a "small" interesting fact that the manufactures of consoles get provision from licensing a software for there consoles and that everybody from the "The Big 3" has his own production of games and selling there own services which all together is even a bigger profit then the piece of hardware. The only benefit of a single console on the market would have the independence publishers of games, but they, very clearly, aren't capable to organize themself to realize that idea on there own and coil there own hardware like a competition to the existing manufactures of machines for gaming. With the realization of such idea there is a potentional problem of hyper-production of bad games, which in the 80's of the past century happened on the North American market with Atari, when with the publishing of great amounts of bad titles the market was "drowned" and the public rejected to buy any titles and the company of Atari went bankrupt (it's been bought by Infogrames).

PlayStation 4?

It is clearly that the market of video-games is incomparably bigger, but the companies are very careful when they need to invest a great amount of money in some joint projects which nobody know if they are going to be succesfull. The idea of a unique standard, an idea of one console on the market, is just clear from perspective from those who want to get a lot of money with little investments, because of the lack of an opponent console, producers of games could easily just agree on a same level of quality of games which are coming out in the same period, which of course, would be on the damage of those who buy games, because the whole market would be on the same level and you can easily figure out that that level wouldn't change with a great speed, mainly because the fact of little investment with great profit.

With that we come to the conclusion, that for us, gamers, a great competition is very good and that in that condition the producers need to put effort to be better then the competition, so that they even would be able to sell there products, which means that they places qualitative products on the market, in this case games, on the common happiness of us, who in this case with a smile on our faces transfers our hard-earned money from our pockets in there one.

Do you really believe Barack Obama?

You see, this month was my worst since I joined the monthly nlog union :P hope the next one is going to be better :P. Btw. why don't you join the Monthly Blog Union and start to make a blog like this also. You could meat some great friends.

Hey, what's going on people. What's the reason for the blog? Just found that I should put a blog on, haven't done in 17 days :P. Beside the fact that's it is the 18 February, so just 10 days till end of February, and it's the 49th day of the year so there are still 316 days till new year :lol:. Also monday was my first day in school in this year :| why? 4 weeks of winter holiday (the whole January) and two weeks for being sick, so I had a good rest of school :lol: but now I have to learn :| why, why :cry: I haven't posted in unions for a long time :| should go back on them :P and my comments on blogs are coming very late (c'mon people, I have something like 20 blogs per day to comment + news to read :lol: ).

What's happening on gaming ground? Almost nothing, I just played Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4) and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories), and I finally found the problem, I mean what happened with my PC. After deciding to open my PC, I couldn't found anything that could trigger the problem, but then.... :cry: I realized that my HDD got overheated and it's dead now, with all my files. Don't worry, there nothing important aside the save files from games :P (Dead Space), FIFA Soccer 09), Pro Evolution Soccer 2009), Final Fantasy VII), Devil May Cry 4)) I will need to play the games again, and to be honest I feel like I should do that :lol:. I'm gonna buy a new HDD, at least one with 500 GB but I think I will buy this one (a pic, and this is the performance: HDD 1TB 7200 rpm SATA-2 32 MB cache Samsung). So I really can't wait to get the HDD so I finally can play Far Cry 2), Fallout 3), etc.... I just bought two games till now, but I still need to get Saints Row 2), F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin,Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3) (there are "some" more games but It would take alot to post all of them here :P). I also await Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II)and Tom Clancy's EndWar(PC), hope both turn good :D.

What I'm doing on GS? I just come here on weekdays, comment friends blogs, read some news, previews, reviews. I haven't posted in unions for a good time now, should start again :D I hope no one is upset because of that :P. I almost lost my hopes to see the "readers choice" emblem and since thanksgiving I haven't got a single emblem :P. I also think to start to make sometimes some countdowns, and to blog more often ;).

What's happening in real life? Aside the fact that I finally started with school on monday, nothings more interesting. School really nerves sometimes :P I mean with 3 languages (Bosnian, English and German), Marketing, Business, Math, History, Sport, Informatics, it really gets on nerves :evil: :lol:. Valentines day was just a normal day this time for me unlike the last year when I wasn't single :P, but c'mon, I have my whole life in front of me, I'm just 16, I really question myself sometimes can I even love someone for real :oops: :P :lol:. Hope you all had one wonderful v-day ;).

I love this game. After I searched for Persona 3, and couldn't find, like a miracle I found Persona 4. It's awesome. Right now I'm at Void quest (the arcade sty1e level) and the main character is level 38. I like the sty1e of the game. Atlus, as ever, don't mind if the graphic ic crap, but whit the humor and very open sexual theme the game rocks. I really like it and that's what brings me to search for Persona 3 even now :D

As a big Square fan, fan of RPG's and a KH fan, I just had to get the game. The battle system nerves just in the beginings, but after you just active cards, you even don't watch which is he card you activet. The game has unlike KHI and II a very low level design but you can live with it if you are a fan as me. The story is mediocre, but for the fans a very important story which links the happenings between KH I and II (did you ever asked yourself what does "Thank Naminê" means, It became my favorite quote in KH II, I mean the second after Axel's quote: "I really liked him. He let fell like I had a heart. Funny, but you make me fell the same"). Marluxia, the main villian in Sora's story is quite cool and I like him, but Larxene impressed me more, her cold acting made she one of my favorite vixens in gaming. Vexen is also good but pawn. Riku's story is just started so no impressions about it yet.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

As a shooter, Square Enix didn't had luck, but the story cought me really. Vincent as one of my favorite character from FF VII, really made a great job defeating the Tsvets and deepground, and after that, as Chaos, he rescued the world, against Hojo, the main scientist in former Shinra company. He wanted to become one with Omega, the strongest creature on Gai-a, who serves as a vessel for the life stream of the planet when the planet is on it ends. This game wanted to make a bit fiction real, and showed how Mars died on there way. I recommend this game just for the FF fans, mainly FF VII lovers.

First thanks for 14 comments in the last blog (part 2 of anniversary blog). I finally came to my last part of my anniversary blog in which I will list my most anticipated games which will come out in 2009. This time I won't be long and one information more, today is the second time I have reached Level 20 :lol: did GS staff had to do this reorganizing of levels (levels form 16 to 23 were effected). They said the slime (I call it "The Hell" :P) is not hard as before but again it's harder then the nearby levels. The bad thing is that I'm also sick so I'm not able to be on-line so much. School is starting on Monday but I'm not going, but I would like to go, I want to see my friends :cry: :P. Now, here is my list (in my last list I had 28 games but I made to just put the top 10) ;):

7) Dark Void upright combat, just what Iron man should be, but didn't made it :cry: hope this game is going to rock, and the devolper is CAPCOM

6) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves This game gonna rock, just like the first part :D

5) Resident Evil 5 I had fun with RE 4 and this one is gonna be better, but it isn't going to be a survival-horror, just like the previous part, it's gonna be a third-person shooter

4) Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days As a big fan of KH I'm gonna love this game :D Also it will feature Roxas while he is still in the organization (Roxas and Axel are my favorites :D) and it will show the daily life of the organization. The graphics are stuning for a DS game and I hope the story is going to rock.

3) Killzone 2 This shooter already got perfect scores by 5 gaming magazines and that's what got me to put it so high on this list, and the movement is gonna rock, and you're not able just to run and kill, 'casue sometimes you will need about 100 ammo to just kill one normal soldier. I already could give it a 10 of 10.0

2) God of War III I had imensive fun with the 2 first parts of this hack 'n' slash game, with great graphic, sound and story. I love the greek mythologie :D

1) Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty As a big fan of Blizzard and RTS games I'm gonna enjoy this game as not any other I did. I'm gonna spend alot of time with it and probably sleepless nights. Hope you also get this game and enjoy it as me :D

It passed a year since I joined GameSpot (ok, that was 6 days ago but didn't had time to write then :P). I found some great friends, had some fun, started for first in my life to note what I'm doing every month, have read some awesome reviews, saw some incredible artwork, said goodbye to some great friends :cry:, have been moderated 3 times, got some knowledge, etc. I would thank everyone who supported me :D and I hope we will still stay friends. For first I will write something about my fav friends on GS (hope I don't miss someone :oops: and peoples who I don't know for a long time should just wait till I make the second friends list up ;)) and it's alphabetic order but first my stats:

• Friends: 104 (and maybe just 50-60 are active and writes blog, reviews and posts, I should make a friends cut)

-Adurna0 - How far I remember my second friend which wasn't from the UK or USA. She is from Greece (man, I would like to visit Greece, the funny thing is Athena is just 1240 kilometars or 771 miles away, and with a car/bus I can be there in just 17-18 hours :P). In the beginning se was a mystery for me but then when I started to read her blogs, I realized she is quite funny and optimistic and that's why I like her to have her in my friends list :D
-Altiar25 - Again one of the who comments every my blog ;) I met him in the The One Ring Union on the summer and he was very interesting. He opened his own union "Playstation 3 Trophy Lovers" but I don't post there (you probably know why ;)). He also use youtube very often and makes vids :D. I also has him as a contact on MSN but I don't talk much with him there :P.
-bak1234567890 - Leader of The Great Nintendo Gamer Union (TGNGU). He is one excellent leader and coordinator, lives in Mexico and is a Nintendo lover but he got a Xbox 360 not long ago. He is probably with Esteban94, one of my friends about I don't know much. His union as a great union and if you are a Nintendo lover, maybe you should join ;).
-Colmillios - She is very intresting, she's married, likes Naruto, isn't a fan of RPG (but she's playing Kingdom Hearts :P), is the leader of ~The Naruto Union~ and is one awesome person, and again one of the persons I would like to meet better ;)
-Dogboywonder - Thought I don't know him alot, he is quite intresting, and the forum of Final Fantasy And Kingdom Hearts Union were not be the same without him. He is the leader of that union after Squall left (the leader position who got it first was -DrAwesomeMD, then Grunt and then DBW). I would like to know him better but we still have time for that ;).
-Esteban94 - The leader of The RPG and Fighting Union. He isn't one of the active members and I don't know much about him, but again he deserves to be mentioned here.
-grunt1096 - Thught we weren't close on the forums to each other, he still deserve to be on this list. He likes music very much but I don't know what to say about him 'cause we almost never "spoke" to each other ;).
-jesus_knight - An excellent leader and the creator of The Monthly Blog Union. I really appreciate the work he do, and I hope we meet each other better ;).
-Martzel94 - One of my first friends here on GS. I met him in the FPS & RPG union, which was my first union. I know him for a while now (about 8 months) but if you ask me he is still a very misterious person, and I don't know much about him, beside that he likes metal music, wants to create a Trash Metal union and lives in England. Keep going ;)
-memberthirteen - The off-topic king and whit his off-topic queen, a_marth_user, they posted an immense number of posts, and made almost every topic in the Final Fantasy And Kingdom Hearts Union an off-topic. I really like both of them (thought they nerve some of us :P) and after reading their conversation (about 100-300 posts in many topics) they gave me always a big laugh, they aren't active in the last time but I would like to see them again :D (Have you heard that chief! Yes Boss! - a conversation between Grunt and MT)
-Munchgun - Even thought he has alot of accounts, this was his most active one :lol:, but I haven't seen him in a long time :(. He was one of the who writes about 3 blogs per day and everytime it was something about his personal life and the stories were quite long, and that helped me to realize which kind of person he is, but again much things are still a mistery :P.
-naruto_444 - I need to list him here, 'cause he comments every of my blogs, and it would be unfair to forget him ;).
-Nicholai69 - One of my recent friends, I decided to track him after I saw him commenting in lot of blogs of my friends, and I realized he is very cool and intresting ;).
-PrincesTwilight - A very intresting, funny, not a forum kind of person. She was one of the who commented my (thought I just have 31 :P) blogs almost from the very beggining. She lives in UK and her arm starts to hurt after playing 1 hours of Sonic Unleashed on Wii :P. If you want to meet her better, track her and reaad her blogs ;).
-ResistanceUFC - He had an account which is banned (don't know why :|) but I didn't know him well in that time, but know I realized he is a funny, optimistic and a man with few words :lol: and that's why I also have just few words for him :P
-Sheena321 - She was the first female in my friends list, but she isn't active in the last time, but again she was one of the very first who commented my blogs :D I would like to see her active again.
-solidmaq - If I do know right he is from Saudi Arabia and he is one of the few which starts a talk with me on MSN :D
-Squall_2 - The first Australian who I met on GS. I met him in the The RPG and Fighting Union, and some time leater he opened his own union, Final Fantasy And Kingdom Hearts Union , which was very active in August and September, but somewhere in October Squall left GS, and since then the union activity dropped. I tried to keep the union alive, but in that time I wasn't active myself, because of school. He PM-ed me sometime before christmas and asked to help him to revive the union, but I didn't posted in that union till January 9 (my winter holiday started on December 31, and on January 3 I left for a village where my dad lives and I was there till January 9). He is one of my BF here and he was also a good leader, hope to see him a long time still here on GS.
-tudyniuz - The crazy Romanian (I had to say that Nicholai :P). His 1 year anniversary is today. He comments all my blogs and he likes the emblems ;) his goal was to reach level 20 before his 1 year anniversary but he failed :twisted: He opened his own union Queen&FreddieMercury Union. Hope we saty friends till our 2 anniversary
-ZanarkandTidus - All that I know about him is from his blogs. He lives in Austrlia, a big RPG fan, watched alot of animes and movies, in the last time he just makes blogs about Movies and animes. He wants to go to Japan like most of us ;) He played also a great number of now days retro games.
-zxv33 - The one who tracked me, and after I saw her monthly blog, it convinced me also to start to make them (now you know who is responsible for that long blogs :P) She lives in Pitsburg, and I think she had a little bit of harsh time in her life :( but she is OK now and I think also optimistic. Hope to learn her better ;).

It's again time to make a monthly blog. I started to make this one right after I got back from the new year party. I won't speak about the whole year in this blog, and if you intrested who are MY favorites (I mean on games) of this year visit this link and if you want leave a comment also. It was a overall good month and once again I got exactly 12 game (I really don't know how do I get all this games :| but then again, there are months I don't get even 4 games lol), and some DVD movies. Unlike you my winter holidays started yesterday on 31 December, but again unlike most of you it will be 31 days long, so my school is starting on February 2. Now let this behind and start the monthly blog. One more information, my PC is out of function (it's 2 weeks now), so just to know that I haven't played alot, I need to repair it.
