The solution is to turn off the DLNA server on the ps3. Go to the network settings in your xmb and turn it off.

I think it's crashing your routers because it's constantly sending out packets. 

Are u ppl using a router? What to I need to do to make sure my Ps3 is on the WMP11's list?

open windows media player. go to Tools>options>Library

click on  configure sharing  button and turn sharing off!

You can use this if WMP11 doesnt work for you.

Maybe a windows firewall issue? im sure it's not the router as internal traffic is not really blocked. May want to give the ps3 a reebooot or maybe close wmp11. 

All you need to do is turn on your ps3.

have windows media player 11 installed.

In windows media player go to Tools>options>Library

Click on the configure sharing button.

You should see Unkown Device or Ps3 listed there.

Click on Allow.

You may want to play around with the settings.

Thats it!

Go back to your ps3 and search for servers!
